Proposal to a nightmare

Alex's P.o.V

He pulled  ring out of his pocket.  Tears of joy rolled down my eyes.

"Alex.....I love you so much.  I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.  Will you marry me?" he ask.

"YES!" I exclaimed crying even more.

I tackle him in to a hug.  So overjoyed.  I smile and cry.  He slips the ring on my finger.

"Do my parents know about this?" I ask.

"No, I wanted to leave that a surprise for everyone to find out," he says kissing my cheek.

I giggle, "so whens a good time for a wedding?" 

"Whenever we're free," he says laughing.

"Fair point.  But more like whenever your free," I point out.

The sun started to set.  The sky turned a beautiful pink and then turned to it's natural black.  I had let darkness take over and clog my judgement before.  It had scared me.  Never again.  He was gone.  He couldn't hurt me.  I tell myself that everyday.  Yet, theres this feeling in my chest.  The feeling he's still alive.  That he's still out there.  Waiting for the perfect moment to strike.  I wasn't ready for that.  I don't think any of us were.

"You wanna go home and tell everyone?" I ask.

"Sure..." Leo looks at me smiling.

We get up and walk back to the cave.  I put the hand that has the ring on behind my back.  We walk over to Maya's room first because she's Leo's sister and our biggest fan.

"Hey Maya...." I say while walking in holding Leo's hand.

She sits up and looks at our hands.

"Show it!" she says excitedly, "I knew you would do it soon Leo!"

I pulled my hand from behind my back.  Showing off the ring.  She squealed and gasped.  Typical Maya.  Like I said, she's our number 1 fan.  I giggle.

"Yay!!!!!!" She exclaims, "Now to show everyone else!" she says pushing us out of her room.

I put my hand behind my back again.  We walk over to Ari and Nathan's room.

"Hello....?  Anyone home?" I ask walking in.

Ari looks at me, "hand," she smirks.

"Ok ok i'm getting to it," I laugh pulling my hand out.

She gasps, "YES MY BFF IS GETTING MARRIED!" she exclaims.

"Nice going Leo," Nathan laughs, "how long did that take to plan?" he asks.

"to long," he laughs.

"Let's go show my parents!" I exclaims dragging Leo out of the room.

If only his parents were here to see him grow up.  Or even to see the wedding.  The only adults that stayed were my parents.  None of they're parents stayed after they all turns 5.  I hide my hand behind my back again.  I go to my parents room.  I knock on the door.

Come in!" my mom shouts behind the door.

I open the door to see my mom looking around for something.  My dad looking for something.

My mother looks up, "what is it sweetheart?" she asks.

"Well Leo-"

"Found it!" my dad exclaims.

My mother rushes over, "it's worse than we thought."

"Mom, dad?" I ask worried.

"What?  Oh it's nothing dear," my mother said turning to us, "now what did you want to tell us?"
