"sam, please open your door. we need to talk," colby begged for the hundredth time. he felt so bad about all this and honestly he just wanted to give sam a hug.

but he can't hug him behind a closed door.

"sam I beg of you," colby urged, "I really need to see you."

colby's begging mad sam's heart flutter a little, loving the sound of his name rolling off of colby's tounge. he quickly pushed the thought away and went back to pouting when remembering the situation.

in colby's defense, he was really drunk. maybe he just didn't understand what happened. to be completely honest, sam thought it was kind of sweet that he's already over at his house at 7am with a killer hangover. colby's right, they did need to talk.

with that, sam got up and trudged to the door. he twisted the nob and about halfway into the pull, the door pushed open by itself, cause sam to be hit with a falling colby.

"ow colby! what the heck were you doing!" sam yelled as the tumbled to the ground.

"i'm sorry! I was leaning on the door, its not my fault you opened it!"

"oh so now your blaming me for my now probably broken arm." sam snared at colby, getting genuinely angery at the situation.

"no I-," colby stopped and helped sam up. "i'm sorry."

sam brushed off his pants and walked over to his couch, colby following closely behind.

"so what is it you wanted to talk to me about?" sam said without making eye contact, only focusing on petting lucie who was sitting in between the two.

"look sam, i'm so sorry about last night. I know it hurt you, and I shouldn't have put you in that situation in the first place."

"it's fine." was all sam said. its all he could say.

colby lifted up sam's chin with two fingers, forcing him to look him in the eye, "no sam, it's not fine."

colby then nonchalantly gestured between the two of them "what is this, sam? what do you want?"

you, is what he wanted to say, but instead sam just stared at him with sad, watery eyes. he misses the time when colby knew nothing of sam's crush on him. it was so much easier then. this had been going on for a while now, just a bunch of awkward, intimate moments between them and it was tearing their friendship apart.

because now it was very obvious that there is something going on between them. if only sam could have just kept to himself, everything would be fine and their friendship would be stable.

as a hot tear slid down sam's cheek, colby quickly took sam into his arms, pushing lucie out from between them.

"hey, shh.. its okay. i'm not mad." colby reassured sam, holding his head in the crook of his neck.

they stayed there like that for a little while longer until sam got his emotions together.

it was hard having feelings for your best friend. especially when your best friend is the one you also share a whole career with. if anything happened between the two of them, their job could be at stake.

"are you okay?" colby asked him sincerely, looking back and forth between his eyes while drying his tears.

"i'm fine." sam said, and made an attempt to pull away from colby, only to be stopped by his strong arms holding him in place.

sam looked at colby with a questionable look, then without thinking, colby leaned in and placed a soft, sweet kiss on sam's bottom lip.

sam was shocked at first, but then slowly kissed him back. he felt one of colby's hand cupping his cheek and the other grabbing at his waist, and soon colby had pulled sam on top of him in a straddling position.

they continued to kiss as colby fought for dominance, winning in an instant. but to be fair sam wasn't putting up much of a fight. he opened his mouth to deepen the kiss, exploring every inch of each others mouths.

the feeling of colby in this way made sam feel weightless. like all of a sudden everything that sam had ever worried about was fading and the only thing he could see in this moment was colby. and thats exactly how he wanted it to be.

one thing led to another and sam was being carried to his bedroom, neither of them coming up for air.

sam didn't care though, because this was the best mistake he's ever made.
