*about 5 weeks later*

"sam? are you okay?" colby asked, concerned about the wretching sounds coming from sam's bathroom.

as colby reached the bathroom, he saw lucie laying on her stomach with her nose under the door, she knew something was wrong too.

shortly after that, a pale looking sam came out of the bathroom, walking straight past colby and collapsing into his bed.

"sam i'm really starting to get worried about you. you've been sick for weeks now." colby said while sitting down on sam's bed, rubbing his back.

sam didn't reply, not because he didn't want to, but because if he opened his mouth he might throw up all over the two of them.

with that said, sam jumped up and ran straight for the bathroom.

"okay that's it samuel. i'm taking you to the doctor, ill get your shoes."

---

"sam golbach?"

as sam heard his name being called by the doctor, colby helped him up and they made their way to the hospital room.

"so sam, my name is diana and I'll be doing your checkup up today, so tell me what's been going on."

"I-"

"he's been so sick this past week, he can't even hold himself up and it's even worse because he won't eat." colby blurted out, eager to find out what's wrong with him.

"I'd like to hear it from sam, please colby," diana said nicely, making colby feel a little embarrassed for not letting sam talk. "go ahead sam."

"I don't know, I just feel very sick and tired. sometimes I feel nauseous even when I know I don't have to throw up."

diana wrote on her clipboard as sam talked, then continued with asking questions.

"how have you been emotionally? are you having mood swings?" she asked curiously.

"yeah, kinda." sam said messing with his hands. all these symptoms were making him nervous.

"headaches?... frequent urination?"

sam thought for a second, then nodded. he now felt very scared.

"okay sam i'm gonna go consult a doctor, ill be back with you shortly. don't worry." diana left the room with her clip board and shut the door quietly behind her.

sam hated the hospital. it was so bright and clean, it made his head hurt. sam looked at colby with sad eyes, feeling the urge to throw up once again. colby took notice.

"do you need the trash can?" colby asked calmly. sam nodded and grabbed his mouth, making colby jump up and give it to him a quickly as possible.

as sam threw up once again, he started getting extremely dizzy and felt like he was going to pass out. he had no energy and no strength. the only thing holding him up was colby. physically and mentally.

"hey sam," a tall, blonde-headed middle aged women walked in, holding her hand out for he and colby to shake. "my name is angie, and I am an obstetrician and I would like to preform a quick ultrasound on you," she said, wheeling in her equipment.

diana stood behind her looking very intrigued to see what was going on, this just made sam all the more nervous.

"wait, isn't an obstetrician like the doctors who follow up on pregnancies?" colby slowly figured out, suddenly getting very confused.

angie stopped what she was doing and looked to the two of them.

"have either of you ever heard of a man giving birth?"

"well, once. aren't there only like two other males in the whole world that are able to have kids?" colby said.

"you would be correct, I am just checking sam to make sure that's not this case. if so, I will be here to help him figure it out."

all this was too much. it was beginning to overwhelm sam so bad that he just wanted to cry.

"this is going to be cold, but not for long," angie said as she applied the gel to sam's lower abdomen, seeing him wince at the coldness.

colby's eyes were glued to the monitor beside them, he had no clue what he was looking for but he couldn't stop looking. sam saw diana's eyes go wide, then immediatly wrote something down on her clipboard.

"what? what is it?"

"sam, you are most certainly 5 weeks pregnant."

sam's heart dropped to the pit of his stomach, he was terrified out of his mind. there is no way he is pregnant. he's a guy. a male. males can't get pregnant.

"I-I I can't be, I- theres no such thing, I-"sam muttered out as tears started to trail down his cheeks, which colby was quick to wipe away.

angie grabbed sam's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze, "i'm afraid it is possible, sam. be happy that you are lucky enough to be blessed with such an ability."

lucky? blessed? sam's life was over. this was a nightmare that he was never going to wake up from. he looked at colby for some type of comfort, but colby just stood there beside the bed, and blankly stared at the monitor.

"may I ask, who is the father?" angie said softly. colby stiffened and switched his gaze from the screen to angie with wide eyes.

"I-um. me? I-I..." colby gulped and threw his head in his hands. he was just as worried as sam was.

well, there goes their friendship. colby is definitely not going to want to stay around for a kid.
