The very next day was a saturday and Sangjun was studying. Ji Ah had been up since 6 AM to study and catch up with her jobs.

Today was a normal day for the both of them. Sangjun just had gotten a light scolding the day before but his parents didn't actually care and Ji Ah had gotten a beating for being home late.

Ji Ah finished her shift quite early and went to the doctors. There was a special kind of doctor who had drop-in almost everyday. All she had to do was to walk a few streets down, take a sharp turn to the right, and then left. Walk a bit further and then you're there.

She stood in front of the building and looked up at it.

- What a nice architecture. She softly whispered and opened the door to the building.

The entrance was white with posters encouraging people to work out and brush their teeth. There was a sign saying which floor had what thing.

The first floor was offices and the second floor had the clinic. The third floor was a dentist. That's about it. She called for the elevator and went up to the second floor. Many people were waiting.

An old lady who was sitting with an old man, she figured that they were a couple. A dad and his daughter was waiting too. She took a ticket from the ticket machine and sat in front of the old couple to look at her phone.

First the daughter and the dad went in. Ji Ah had waited for about twelve minutes until they came out. As they walked out of the room the old couple went in. This time she had to wait a bit longer but she didn't mind.

It gave her plenty of time to look around her environment. There was a small wooden table in front of her with magazines and newspapers spread out for everyone to read. There was a play area in the corner with dolls and drawing material where the small girl had sat.

She looked up and saw pride flags of different sorts and shelves with "employee of the month" pictures. She almost spaced out but the nurse calling her number made her snap out of her thoughts.

She quickly stood up and followed the female nurse into the examining room.

- Please take a seat, miss. The nurse said with a smile.

Ji Ah did as told and sat down on the bed as the nurse took a seat at her desk.

- So, what happened this time Ms. Min? The nurse asked softly.

- Well, you see, I was running and fell down a hill.

Ji Ah comes to this clinic often to treat her wounds. She can't afford to waste money on medicine and bandaids so she just comes to this free place instead.

She can't tell them about her father for obvious reasons. They would most likely give her a foster family and put her dad in jail. As much as she hated his personality and behaviour, he was still her dad and she loved him.

So she would always come up with excuses for her bruises and wounds. The nurse sighed and continued,

- Please show me the parts that are bruised and we'll treat it.

Ji Ah nodded and cuffed up her pants and sleeves with a faint and nervous laugh. The nurse seemed worried but kept quiet and began to put bandages on her patient in silence.

It was soon over and Ji Ah was pleased. She thanked the nurse and went on her way. She was a bit happier but it soon went away as she saw a group of girls hanging out and eating ice cream.

She didn't know them but it upset her because the sight of people enjoying life just reminded her on how she will never enjoy it. All she will ever do is to work her butt off to be able to pay off her dad's debts. She looked the other way and almost bumped into someone.
