"It is still wrong to leave your home," Oliver spoke to the kits sternly.
"But it isn't our home, our mother says we're going home though," Crowkit spoke up, protecting her siblings.
Oliver chuckled, wrapping his tail around the five. Frightened at first, Crowkit began to bite his tail
"Your leader commands you to attack!" She yowled, signaling at her littermates to play.
Oliver batted playfully at the kits as they all began to jump onto his pelt. Dawncloud smiled and let out a chuckle as she stepped out of the bushes. The group of six froze, startled.
"If you wanted to play with the kittypets, you should have asked!" Dawncloud purred, thankful they were okay.
She glanced at Oliver who quickly bolted his gaze to his kits. He gently stood up and bumped the kits' rears towards their mother.
"You put up quite a fight, Crowkit. That'll come in and you one day, watch out for siblings," he purred softly, walking away.
Just then, a gray pelt bolted through the bushes and attached itself to Oliver. Startled, he clawed at his attacker, spinning around as fast as he could.
His yelps knocked Dawncloud back into reality as she leaped to his side. She grabbed the attacker by the scruff and slung it away from her kits.
"Dovefur!" Dawncloud hissed, startled as her friend stumbled to her paws.
Oliver's eyes flashed thankfulness at the calico she-cat before he sprinted back into the bushes. Dawncloud glared angrily at Dovefur, she was still in an attacking stance, her eyes furious.
"Watch my kits this time!" Dawncloud hissed before bolting after her former mate.

Brambles scraped Dawncloud's face as she sprinted through the twolegs place. Her breath became heavier with each step and her eyes blurring as Oliver's pelt disappeared. Finally, she stumbled out of the bushes and into a fence. She shook her head and glared up towards the top.
A voice caused Dawncloud to stop her preparation of jumping.
"You smell of kits, where have you been?" The unfamiliar voice spoke.
Dawncloud poked her eye through a hole in the fence and glared, as tears filled her eyes.
"I stumbled across five adorable kits, they wanted to play and wouldn't let me leave," Oliver answered, sitting down behind a beautiful flame colored she-cat.
"Nami and I have been worried about you, my love," She spoke, cleaning the tiny kit in her paws fur.
"It's alright Blaze, I just went for a stroll while you were asleep, I'm here now," he replied.
Dawncloud looked away, her claws attacked the ground below her. Is this my punishment, StarClan? She hissed to herself. Without looking back, she walked through the bushes again, this time the brambles had to affect on her.
As Dawncloud made her way back to the kittypet spot she had first encountered Oliver, her kits rushed towards her paws.
"Mother! Mother! That cat was so friendly!" Spottedkit and Ravenkit chirped, nuzzling their mother's leg.
"Well you didn't know that when you ran away did you?" She hissed, causing the five children to go quite.
Dawncloud motioned with her tail for Dovefur, who had been silently spectating from the back, to follow her. The rest of the journey towards their nest spot was awkwardly quite. First Dovefur attack's my mate right in front of my kits, and then I see he has already had a mate? She growled so quite no one could hear her.
"Mother, it wasn't their fault," Crowkit finally muttered.
Dawncloud eyed her kit before coming to a stop. "Continue," She spoke.
"We woke up and decided to search for a squirrel, but when we went looking, we saw him," Crowkit explained, her blue eyes shinning. "He looked like me, mother, so I made everyone follow him. Soon, we were all around him listening to stories."
Dawncloud's expression saddened as she sat down. Her kits mimicked her movement, and soon everyone expect Dovefur, who stood in the back, was listening to the black she-cat.
"What were the stories?" Dawncloud asked.
Crowkit cheered up, and purred as she remembered the words.
"He told us of a beautiful spotted she-cat with a beautiful heart in which he loved, and a orange she-cat who carried an ever lasting friendship in which he also loved," all the kits purred as she retold the tale.
"He said he chose friendship only because the spotted cat didn't need him anymore," Ravenkit added as the remaining four nodded in agreement.
Dawncloud let a tear fall from her cheek onto the ground. She wrapped her tail around her kits the same way Oliver had done, and cuddled them.
"Well because they decided to leave like a group of warrior patrols, we can't stop to rest for the rest of the night," Dovefur hissed, gently picking up Dawncloud's two black kits. "We'll have to sleep next night"
Dawncloud sprang in front of her chubby friend and grabbed Crowkit.
"I think I'll carry her for now," She mumbled, picking up Cloverkit and Spottedkit.
Dovefur nodded, picking up Featherkit and trotting along side her friend. Dawncloud purred to herself as she walked forwards.
Please keep Oliver, StarClan. She silently prayed.
( Authors note: This Oliver is not Princess's mate! He is in fact Princess's daughter's (Nami) daughter's (Blaze) mate. It's confusing I know, but it gets worse! Nami is not only Blaze's mother, but also the name of her kit! That's all :) )
