"So, what do you think?" Mya's voice snaps me out of my trance.

"Hm mm." I can feel glares piercing into my back. I whip my head around to find them staring at me intensely. "What?" I tense up.

"Girl, don't tell me you've been zoning out this entire time." Mya says disapprovingly.

"Of course not." I hope they didn't notice that the hurt in my voice is fake. Mya doesn't seem convinced.

"Oh really? What were we talking about then?" Avery asks.

"Roy." I reply matter-of-factly. Roy Harper is Avery's boyfriend. It was an easy question, I think. For the past week, he's all Avery's been talking about.

Mostly because Roy had been gone for a while and now that he's back, they go on dates almost every day. Ranging from having breakfasts together to band practice after school to movies to late night calls.

It's possible because they live close together and their families are long time friends. I thought it would be weird since they've known each other since they were kids.

But Avery said they've always had a thing for each other but they didn't do anything about it because like me they thought it would be weird, so they dated other people and the summer before ninth grade they had to go on this road trip together and bam!

And honestly, I am happy Roy attends different classes, because if I have to see what I hear everyday... 'Gross' my subconscious fills in for me. Exactly.

"I've still got my eyes on you." Mya has her eyes in slits. "Anyway, Roy has invited us to a football game tomorrow." She says with forced enthusiasm, but Avery is too excited to notice.

"I didn't know Roy played football, I thought he's in a band." I scrunch my nose in confusion. "You know, sexy ass guitar soloist and all."

"He is a sexy ass solo guitarist, which is why we are going to a college football game." The confusion on my face grows and Avery sighs.

"It's his elder brother's game. He invited me and asked if you guys could come with." Her smile grows even bigger if that's possible.

"And after he'll drive us to the fair. They just put up a new ride." Yeah, it's possible for her smile to grow bigger.

"They've been putting ads up about it for months. It better be worth the hype." Mya grumbles.

"You're just bummed out that Keith said he's busy and can't make it." Avery teased her.

"Am not." And they went back to being besties again and me sticking out like a sore thumb.

*~*~*~*~*

I walk towards the bleachers of the football field.

Immediately Avery packed the car, I bolted to use the restroom. My eyes search the crowd before landing on Mya and Avery sitting next to a brown haired boy.

I look down as I climb the steps and bump into something like a hard wall. I look up and see Raf looking at me with surprise.

"What are you doing here?" He asks.

"Seeing a football game?" I say matter-of-factly.

He face palms himself. "Forget I asked that. Same here. My brother is their linebacker." He points to the guys in green and gold football gear huddled together.

Roy's brother is in the same team as their defense or something. Don't look at me. I can't understand this game no matter how hard I try.

I guess I have the right to wonder why boys kick and chase a ball like they wonder what girls see in makeovers and other girly stuff.
