______________
He looked out the window with nothing much on his mind as he absent-mindedly watched the gloomy gray clouds above; the clouds brought on a foreboding feeling to the brunette. With a sigh, he turned back to his desktop and stared at what he had accidentally typed. His eyes grew wide at what he had typed unconsciously, originally he had been typing up his report on the last crime he had worked on, yet for some reason he had typed up his very own recipe. Pressing the backspace, he blankly watched the writing disappear. Stifling a yawn, he looked down at the clock, which read 6:44 PM. It seemed like his day was going slower than snails on peanut butter. Lately the police station hadn't had any real crimes, which made working extremely torturous. He was really hoping the day would become more interesting, but his hopes weren't high as his shift would be over at eight.
Trying to focus, Seojun went back to writing up his report. His eyes occasionally drifted back out the window to look at the sky. He had a really bad feeling, but he couldn't put his finger on it; maybe he was overthinking it because the police station had been quiet lately, almost too quiet.
Suddenly the business phone on Seojun's desk rang out, the abruptness caused him jump from his trance. Shooting to his feet, he grabbed the phone with more force than necessary, quickly putting it up to his ear. He was barely able to contain his excitement for something more to do.
"Hello, police department.. State your emergency." He answered the phone and awaited a response from the caller. Nobody answered.
"Prank caller?" He pulled the phone away from his face as he said it, looking at the screen to see if the call was still connected. Once he confirmed that the phone was still connected to the call, he put it back to his ear. He listened for any sign that it wasn't a prank call, since it was still connected he assumed it probably wasn't some teenage prank. Typing with his one hand, he made sure to track the callers' location. He kept the phone close to his ear and listened closely. He could hear someone tapping the screen on their phone, before he heard a young man call out to someone. Their voice sounded a bit muffled as if their phone was far from their face.
"Hey, do you need help? Do you want me to call an ambulance?" Seojun strained his ears to hear anything else.
The person on the other end of the phone was silent. He never heard a response from the person that the young man had called out to. A few moments passed before he heard a slight gasping noise which was then followed by a sudden loud sound that shot through his phone. The sound caused him to jump, accidentally dropping the phone as he did so. The phone landed on the desk, cracking the screen. He quickly picked the phone up and looked at the screen. Ignoring the cracks, he could see that the call had been ended from the other end.
"We got an emergency!" He shouted, placing the business phone in his pocket before he grabbed his mobile phone and walkie-talkie from his desk. Seojun then called out to his partner as he grabbed his patrol car keys. "Hanwoo-ssi come on, you're going to ride with me!"...
