As the train stopped Jiwon rushed to the door, eager to know who was on the roof. He was hoping it was Kitt and he was getting his hopes up pretty high. The train door opened slowly, too slow for Jiwon's liking as he was overly eager to see the person on the roof. He hopped off the train right after two other people who were also curious about the person on the roof. One was a middle aged businessman who wore formal attire, while the other was a high school student who was still in his school uniform. They were all too curious for their own good.
Once Jiwon was outside he turned to see who was on top of the train. His eyes automatically found their way to the person's feet as they lowered themself to the ground. They wore black boots, once he saw the boots he already knew it was the person he had hoped it to be. The person landed on the solid ground with a small echoing thud. Jiwon couldn't help, but stare at the boy, making sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. He took a few hesitant steps towards him, before breaking into a run. Jiwon threw his arms around Kitt's neck and brought him in for a hug. His eyes watered endlessly as he gave the other man a bear hug.
"I thought I lost you, Kitt!" He sobbed into Kittichai's shoulder.
"How long have you known me? I told you before I would always be around to protect you." Kittichai smiled warmly at Jiwon as he freed himself from his death grip and patted him on the head. "What's this, come on, you don't need to cover your face." Kittichai reached his hand out and took off his dust mask, then shoved it into Jiwon's pocket. The action caused Jiwon to smile from ear to ear. As they reunited the two friends almost forgot about the dangers of the day.
A loud jingle brought the two back to reality as the business man's phone rang. The business man quickly snatched it from his pocket and awkwardly fumbled with it to turn it off, but it was already too late. It echoed all throughout the area, the noise not going unnoticed by anything that was nearby. Jiwon noticed how Kittichai looked around nervously, pushing Jiwon back towards the train door. He stumbled slightly from the push and gave Kittichai a puzzled expression, which Kittichai returned with a stern look. He knew the look all too well and didn't ask any questions as he made his way back towards the train doors.
A few seconds went by before some nearby creatures came out of the shadows and ran at them all at once.
"Go!" Kittichai ordered him as they quickly ran towards the door.
The businessman was the first one to get back on the train. He shouted as he got on, "Come on, get the train moving!"
These creatures were gaining on Kittichai and Jiwon much faster than the ones from earlier. As they neared the door the train began to move. The monsters were hot on their heels. Jiwon pulled himself up first and then reached out for his friend's hand, Kittichai took his hand without hesitation and was quickly pulled up. The train was picking up more speed now, but it wasn't enough. The businessman grabbed the door and tried to slide it shut, but the monsters grabbed onto the corner of the door making it impossible to close it. The creatures that first attached to the door had more grabbing a hold of it, they were creating a chain link as they got dragged along.
"Somebody do something to get them off!" The teen said in horror.
"I have an idea!" The businessman said and grabbed the teen by the arm.
"Whaa!?" The teen screeched as he was then thrown out as bait to the monsters. Jiwon watched in horror as the boy was quickly grabbed by the third link of the monsters causing the link to break. He let out a horrible scream of agony as the monsters tore his stomach open.
Everyone who had witnessed it stared in shock and horror. Jiwon turned away, looking to where he had thought Kittichai had been standing next to him, and realized it was the mysterious person instead. His friend was a little further in the train, but still nearby.
"They're still here!" The businessman blared. Jiwon had been looking around when he felt the man tug on his arm and throw him towards the door. Jiwon let out a squeak of surprise and closed his eyes as he fell, reaching his arms out for anything to grab. His hand connected with someone else's as they grabbed him and tugged him inwards. He stumbled into them roughly, while the person kept a firm hold on his hand. He snapped his eyes open to see who had saved him from an ill awaited fate. He had expected it to be Kittichai, but his eyes fell upon the person still gripping his hand and the safety bar. He let out a small gasp, flustered. No matter how thankful he was, he quickly released his grip on their hand. He hadn't realized how short the person was until now. He looked at Kittichai who had moved a few steps closer to him due to the stress that the situation had just caused.
"What the hell is wrong wi-!" Kittichai started towards the businessman threateningly but stopped as Jiwon's savior shoved the man backwards into the wall.
"This whole situation is probably best for people like you." The person grabbed the businessman by the collar and shoved him towards the door. He turned and caught the wall with his left hand and the back of the door with his right; stopping himself from falling out of the train face first. He let out some air he had been holding in his lungs as he took a step back from the door. That one step he took backwards was a mistake, he ran into someone. He turned around slowly and as he did, the person grabbed him by the collar once again and pushed him back a little so that he was right on the edge of the train. He reached up and grabbed the person's poncho as a way to support his weight better.
"Please let me back in... I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" From where Jiwon stood he heard the person who held the businessman scoff.
"The boy you just threw from the train, he didn't even have a chance to beg for his life, why should you?" Jiwon watched as the man contemplated his next choice of words carefully, but before he could come up with something to say, the person spoke again in a chilling tone, "In this kind of situation, having allies is imperative for survival. You just proved that you are anything but an ally." The person then reached down and started unbuttoning the poncho.
"N-NO!" The man shouted and reached out for the person's face. He grabbed the face mask and pulled it off, the sunglasses fell off with the mask. The person's face was still hidden from everyone aside from the businessman though. "Pl-please miss."
"Their lives apparently meant less than yours. Which makes your life worthless to me." They said as they undid the last button. The poncho slipped off of their shoulders and caused the businessman to plummet to his fate. He fell into the first link of creatures causing the remaining link to let go and attack the man. Nobody paid any mind to the businessman as he screamed curses at them with his remaining breaths.
"Did he say 'miss?'" Jiwon thought as he quickly looked at the person who was now closing the door. She had long brown hair that went midway down her back. She turned around and briefly met Jiwon's gaze. He couldn't help but stare into her blue eyes. She was a pretty foreigner and he noticed almost all the men who could see her were staring at her, mouths agape. He continued to stare and failed to notice that his best friend was watching him. Jiwon's cheeks tinted a slight pink color as he stared at the girl. His friend lightly elbowed him in the side.
"Heheh... She's pretty, don't you think?" Kittichai teased him.
"Yeah... she is." Jiwon practically swooned.
"I'm glad you're okay, Ji." Kittichai said seriously.
"Tsk, yeah. I wish that poor kid was okay too, though." He said bitterly, knowing that the teen boy wasn't so lucky.
