It has been more than a hour since he last saw his brother and more than a hour since he last saw Beatrice. Oh, how the thought burns his heart and mind. He missed them both dearly. Heck, even that frog. He shakes off the thought and continues to walk ahead with The Beast by his side watching his feet sink into the snowy floor. After a moment of silence a new thought begin to ring. It has been more than a hour walking through the woods in a snow storm with The Beast, not knowing where he was leading him.

"Where are we going exactly?"

Wirt finally spoke, looking away from his feet to gaze up at the tall demon slowly beginning to regret his decision since the other was not answering his question.

'What if he's actually gonna kill? What if he lied to me?'

Wirt tries to ignore those fearful thoughts and instead looks back ahead to see nothing but the cold mist and large trees that seem to look like they are leaning down towards him.  He shakes his head softly now returning to look down at his feet .

He shivers from the cold, specks of snow that touched him softly, making his teeth chatter. He begins to doubt that he can bare the snow storm any longer.

Wirt looks back up at The Beast, studying him and his appearance. The tall creatures body was black as coal, on the crown of his head that intrigued him the most was that what seemed like antlers were actually black colored looking branches that were attached to his head, his cape that would just dangle around his back was now waving with the wind, his eyes still glowing bright and alive but he had no mouth, ears nor nose, his long legs moved normally like a human and his arms were long but stopped at where his finger tips were almost close to his knee caps.

He looked the same as if he was in the shadows actually, yet Wirt felt that this wasn't his true form.

He felt that there was more that this was just his 'soft' form, his thoughts quickly vanish right when he felt something hit his toes and his face colliding with the freezing winter snow. He gasped and shook violently from the cold.

'This is it....I'm going to die right here in this stupid woods.' He thought sadly, his body beginning to drift off into sleep ignoring the fact that his fingers were going numb.

But right when he was about to knock out he suddenly felt a large hand grab his waist, lifting him up in the air.

He gasped loudly now wide wake and his body filled with fear, so he began to thrash wildly screaming, his mind concluding that now his time his up, that the thing lied to him and now will eat his flesh or something worse, thinking now the beast will show the true meaning of darkness.

He closed his eyes tightly waiting for something to happen.

Instead after a long silence he felt fur touch the left side of his face, something draped over his back and the strong smell of pumpkin mixed with oak trees and something he can't really identify. He opens his eyes slowly to realize that he was on the back of The Beast. He was puzzled for a second but forgets it after his body submitted to the warmth of the fur, his sleepy eyes and tired body returning.

"Sleep, child. This was going to be a long walk anyways..." The Beast said lowly.

Wirt grumbles finally letting sleep take over. Right before he drifted off the last thing he heard was The Beast singing his song loud and proud.

"Greg! Greg, wake up!"

"Gregory, Wake up!"

Greg groaned loudly turning to his side ignoring the female voices. "I don't want to go to school today! I'm too tired!" He protested, frowning.

"School? Greg, you're not going to school! Gosh darn it! please wake up!" Greg sighs, finally opening his eyes to see the little blue jay he come to know and love, and an old woman behind her that he did not recognize. Greg smiled tiredly "Hey  Beatrice! And who are you old lady? A-and where's Wirt?" He sits up, noticing that he was laying in a soft bed and was only alone with the two other beings.

"Please, do not call me old." The Old woman sternly said, with Greg only smiled and nodded "Ok, young man!" He giggles. Beatrice sat on his leg "Greg, this is my Mom. But are you ok?" She asked concerned. Greg nods.

"Yeah! Just hungry and cold and sleepy and hungry and a litt-" he was interrupted by a loud croak.

He gasped and look towards the door way to see his frog, hopping inside the room wearing what looks like the most warmest sweater in the world, and was simply just his size. " Benjamin Franklin!" He exclaimed loudly, hugging the frog once it jumped on the bed. "I'll go make him some lunch" Beatrice mom said as she walks out of the room.

After the happy reunion between 'Benjamin' and Greg, his happy smile quickly turns into a confused pout.

"Where's Wirt?"

Beatrice pauses for a moment but then slowly said "He....He left off with The Beast. When you were knocked out, The Beast made a deal with Wirt that if he were to stay with him, he wouldn't kill you ...." She said sadly looking away from the young boy.

"Is that true, Benjamin Franklin?" He asked turning to look at the frog that simply croaked. His pout quickly turns to a large frown. "But the cloud lady said that if i go with The Beast, h-he....h-he..." Greg felt tears weld up in the corner of his eyes, his lip quivers. Beatrice hears the sniffle, she quickly flies to the young boy, nuzzling his face as the green frog hops on Gregs lap nuzzling his stomach.

"It's ok, Greg. We will find a way to get you brother back." She softly said. With her simple words he nods regaining confidence, the frown turned into a smile as if he was never sad just a moment ago.

"Yeah! We'll fight The Beast and get my brother back!" He exclaimed happily while the frog under him crocked with a smile and Beatrice smiled.

"Come on, gang!" He stands from the bed but Beatrice mother stops him after she came walking in through the door way. "Wait! Eat your dirt first!" She said as she was holding a bowl of mashed potatoes, meatloaf with a side of carrots and peas.

Greg blinks confused "Dirt?"

Beatrice sighs loudly "Mom! You're not a bird anymore, Stop calling it dirt!" She said frustrated while her mother laughs.

"I will when you turn human" she smirks giving the fresh plate to Greg, who quickly began to eat with his bare hands leaving the spoon to fall on the wooden floors, his mouth and cheeks being covered with warm food.

"And i said I'll use the scissors after we save Wirt!" She replies. After about a few minutes of the silly argument, Greg interrupts it by saying "Do you guys have molasses?"

-Somewhere deep in the woods-

All he could feel was warmth now, yet he could hear the strong breeze of the winter storm. He slowly opens his sleepy eyes to see only something that looked like the end of the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel was the woods, which was still covered in large amounts of snow and continued to rain more.

Wirt shudders closing his eyes, he nestles more into the large black cape that covered his whole body. He turns his other side, his back facing the end of the tunnel. He opens his eyes to the gasp loudly. He gazes the shadows to see no body figure but saw the white glowing eyes he knows and fears.

"Rest, my child. For tomorrow the winter snow will be gone and fall will return" he assures.
