I woke up to the sound of heavy, even breathing. Which was weird because Alex's breathing had been so labored, patchy. I realized that his chest was rising and falling with a strength that hadn't been present since the older boy arived in the white washed room. Alex also felt warmer, like a heat wave had passed over his winter cold body. Alex's grip on Jack's hand was tighter. Jack processed this all within a matter of seconds.

The dark haired boy lifted his head slowly off of the younger's chest, turning to look at Alex's face. Alex look completly different than what Jack remembered he did when he had fallen asleep. His skin wasn't as pale, a light pink in his cheeks, he was snoring and looked to be more alseep, compared to how he looked basicaly like a corpse just a few hours ago. His nubs weren't in his nose anymore, oxygen tank missing, also sporting a new iv connected to a vein on his arm. 'The doctor must have came when i was asleep' Jack figured.

Jack just sat there in awe of the older male, watching how his eyes fluttered every so often, how his face twitched every so often into a sour look that made Jack giggle (fuck you giggling is manly). But what Jack loved most was how Alex's grip on Jack's hand would tighten slightly, almost as if to make sure he hadn't left.

Jack was resisting the urge to wake Alex in any way. It was so hard to not jump onto the boy and hold him. So he just settled for climbing into the bed next to Alex, (doing the best he could not to bump anything) playing with the blonde coloured locks, and staring at how gorgeous he looked when he wasn't so close to the cold embrace of darkness.

"Didn't your mom ever tell you staring is rude?" the words shocked Jack to the core of his fucking soul, if even possible. Alex, his Alex, was awake and talking!

"Lex!" Jack pulled Alex's body against his, tears slipping down his cheeks, staining the hospital gown Alex was currently sporting.

"Jack." Alex's murmered, voice muffled by the cotton of the dark haired male's New Found Glory t-shirt, currently becoming stained with tears.

They laid there, tangled in each other, crying for what seemed like hours. The only sound being their sobs.

Jack was first to pull away. "Don't you ever, EVER, fucking scare me like that again. Okay? I don't want to have to find you bleeding out of a bathroom floor again. Do you know how hard it was for me? Waiting there. Holding you while i waited for help to come? Watching you, you! The fucking boy i love, die slowly?" Alex knew Jack's words weren't ment to hurt him, but they did. Alex started crying harder.

"I-I'm s-" Jack cut Alex off.

"Shh, don't apologize Lexy, it's okay," Jack held Alex, rubbing soothing circles on his back, "you're okay, just don't apologize for how you felt, and what you did. I understand."

Alex pulled back first this time. Jack noticed be kept looking into his eyes and then his lips over and over. The want was present in Alex's dark caramal eyes everytime he looked into Jack's chocolatte ones. Luckly Jack was very observent.

"Lex, can-can i try something?" Alex just nodded, swallowing slightly.

Jack unwrapped his arms from around Alex's waist and set them on the older boy's thighs. He started closing the gap between their mouths, only to be met half way. Their lips molded together beautifuly, it was sweet and soft but full of all the pent up emotions that either boy couldn't express verbaly. Alex grabed his friends hands, slotting their fingers together, perfectly, like peices of a puzzle would when they were met with the right one. Flutters of butterflies were evident in both boys stomachs.

Jack pulled away first, know that Alex needed all the air he could get in the condition his body was in. Alex pressed their foreheads together, still holding his hands, and pressed light kisses on Jack's lips every so often.

"Lex, i like you, more than a friend should." Jack said, a smirk tugging at the sides of his lips.
