(Sorry I deleted the last ones, I just didn't really like them. I'm giving it another shot, and I apologize.)No!!! "BRUCE!!!" I ran over to Bruce and picked up his body, crying into his chest. "NO!!" I yell, weeping and begging for him to come back. I just hold him, crying and pleading. "No... No... No..." I heard another shot. My head was killing me, my body fell limp, and I couldn't feel a thing.
"AH!!!" I punched whatever was in front of me, a wince came from someone, and I kicked and failed myself around. I was tapped under a blanket, and I don't know how I got there. I struggled to get free, ripping out of something or someone's grip. I escaped the blanket that covered me, looking around in fear.
"Ow!!?" Bruce rubbed his chest, looking at me with worry.
"You're... Not... Dead...?!" I tackled Bruce, hugging him tightly. "Don't do that again!!!!"
"Do what?!" Bruce just sighed, then hugged me back. "When did I die?!"
"In... In a... Dream..."
"Oh... More bad dreams... Huh...?" I nod slightly. Bruce held me close, letting me check his heartbeat to see if he was still alive.
"You were sniped... Then I got sniped..." I sighed, putting the side of my head on Bruce's chest. He kissed my forehead and smiled.
"Let's just sleep... When we wake up... Hopefully everything will be better..." He smiled, I couldn't help but smile back. I laid there on his chest, falling asleep slowly, fearing of yet and other dream coming to haunt me.
I felt a presence when I woke up. Someone... Watching me... I looked around, trying to find the stalker. I turned around and a pillow flew full speed at my face.
"OW!!!" Blood dripped down my nose as I fell backwards. "WILLIAMS!!" Bruce shot up, grabbing me and reaching for a knife on his hip. "BRUCE! NO!" I held his hand down, keeping the knife in the holder. Bruce looked over to Williams and scowled.
"What. The. HELL." Bruce put me down, slapping Williams across the face.
"Hey!! OW!! You hit like a goddamn gorilla!!" Williams punched Bruce in the chest and instantly regretted it. He winced, shaking his hand in pain. "ARE YOU MADE OF STONE?!"
"As a matter of fact, yes." Bruce replied sarcastically. "Watch your language." Bruce walked into the room, folding the sleeping bags and putting the pillows back on the couch. Williams collapsed onto the couch, putting his feet on the table in front of it. "Manners." Bruce walked past and knocked Williams's feet off the table.
"Really? Fine, Christian boy."
"I'm Atheist." Bruce sighed, sitting on the couch too. I sat in the middle of Williams and Bruce, preventing any havoc.
"The horses are ready, I also packed some backpacks with water and food for your travels." Vui smiled, walking back inside.
"Thank you Vui, really, I appreciate it." I stood up, dragging Bruce too so Williams and him didn't get into another cat fight.
"You're welcome." He smiled, handing me a backpack, and handing Bruce one. "You can head out, I'm going to talk with Vui."
"Okay," Bruce turned to Vui, "thank you so much, Sir."
"Of course!" Vui laughed.
"BYE! Thanks bro!" Williams ran out the door that Vui came in from. "HOLY CRAP!! WHAT ARE THESE HORSES!? THEY'RE HUGE AS SH-"
"Language!!!" Bruce walked outside, tsking.
"Vui, thank you. I appreciate you not trying to kill us. We've been through so many incidents that... never mind. I just thank you."
"Of course, you and Mr. Swatch, and Mr. Williams, are welcome any time. I also packed some bandages in Mr. Swatch's. I can tell he's a medic."
"Thank you. I can't express my gratuity."
"No need. You're fighting for both the freedom of your people, and mine. I owe you."
"No, please don't say that... You owe us nothing..."
"Just shut up and go fight." Vui started laughing, I began laughing myself. "This is farewell, Mr. Wolf."
"Farewell."
"Wait, wait, one last thing. When Mr. Swatch is helping a man in a trench... watch out. Please protect him."
"Oh, uh, yes Sir."
"Thank you... and goodbye."
"Goodbye, Vui." I smiled and walked out the door, closing it behind me. Bruce stood at the side of one of the horses with Williams on his shoulders, helping him onto the giant animal. "Ardennais, huh?" Both Williams and Bruce looked back at me, confused. "It's the breed of horse." Williams finally got onto the bare back of the horse.
"You really are a country boy, aren't you?" Bruce walked over to me.
"You know me." I laughed.
"Need help?" He asked, running his hand though his hair.
"Please?" Bruce placed his hands on my hips and lifted me into the air, placing me on the back of the horse. The horse neighed, throwing me off. "AH!!" I fell forwards onto Bruce. Bruce fell back and held onto me, taking the fall and protecting me.
"Wow... Stubborn horse." Bruce chuckled, kissing me on the forehead. He stood up and held me in his arms still. "Why don't we just take mine? He seems a lot nicer."
"Sure." I smiled. I honestly enjoyed Bruce holding me like a child, not because he was holding me like a child, just because I liked the fact that I was close to him. Bruce walked over to his horse and placed me on the back, then jumped onto the front. I wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Ooooooooh~! 'Last Time Of Love Before Death'! That's gonna be a hit once I get back to the typewriter!" Williams laughed, looking at me and Bruce.
"No one is dying, at least not in this group." Bruce tensed up. I wrapped my arms around his ribs, which made him loosen up a little.
"Yea, because we got the best Medic in the world." My hands slid up to his chest as I brought myself closer. I laughed as I saw his cheeks flush red, then I dropped my hands back to his ribs.
"Awwwww!!!"
"Dear god, Williams. You sound like Delgato!!!" I laughed, he really did feel like Delgato, stalking me as I slept with Bruce, saying how cute of a couple we were. It really felt like he was still here...
"Who!?"
"Oh... I remember now... You left before we met the chopper squad..." I laughed through my pain.
"It's okay Wolf, we don't have to talk about it... let's just go." Bruce kicked off the horse, trotting down a dirt path that wrapped around the mountain. Williams horse just followed us.
"Whoa! This guy is just doing his own thing! Is that one alpha or somethin'?"
"What? No! Horses don't have alphas. I guess it was just raised to follow this one." I shrugged.
"Hmmmm. So I'll just sleep then." Williams shrugged, tilting his helmet down in front of his face and laying backwards on the horse. We walked down the trail for a while, I'd say an hour.
"So, three soldiers, roaming Hindu Kush with only one order, find a General. We don't even know what General. And, to top all that, we are in an area where we could get picked off real easy. The horse is just walkin', we aren't moving or anything, a sniper could just-"
"Listen, there will be no sniper." Bruce sighed. "First... Juliana, then dreams...? It's okay, we'll be okay... You're just worrying too much..."
"Do I worry to much...? Is it all just worry...?" I looked over to Williams and sighed. "I've always been told I worry too much... but do I...?"
"Yes Wolf... but it's all okay... no need to feat something that isn't there..."
"And if it is...?"
"Then you'll prove me wrong."
