and I still feel pain....

Keith stood in front of Lances healing pod, noticing every little detail.

"Quiznack Lance....why didn't you tell us?" he mumbled, placing a hand on the machine. Lance has been out for a week at best and Keith had barely got any sleep. Usually the healing pods would take a mere hours or even a day or two to fully heal, but Lance has been in there too long.

"I...I don't understand..." Keith sat down in front of the pod. He replayed every single memory he had with Lance. How he rose from a coma to shoot Zyntak. How he always made people smile with his obnoxiously flirtatious jokes. How he teamed up with Keith at the Balmara. How he came in and helped save Shiro.

Lance was annoying but Keith couldn't help but admire his strengths. He admired Lance.

He always seemed to know what to do even if he didn't.

Suddenly, the pod opened up and Keith jumped up to catch Lance in his arms. He was limp, but alive and tears of joy spilt over his eyes.

"What happened?" he mumbled into the Korean's shoulder. Keith gently settled him down on the floor.

"Oh thank quiznack you're okay," Keith croaked. He didn't like crying, but for Lance, someone who has saved his butt countless times, he made an exception. The paladin looked at him confused yet worried and Keith's heart somehow jumped in his throat.

"Why are you crying?" He placed a hand on his cheek and wiped away his tears with his thumb and he had a gentle smile on his stupidly beautiful face.

"Because you almost died you idiot! And you pushed us away! How could you feel like that and not tell us?!"

"What are you talking about?" Lance asked, furrowing his brows. Keith wrapped his hands around the others wrists and stared at him directly in the eyes.

"The video, Lance. How'd did you know this would happen? How did you know you'd get hurt?"

Lance went ridged as his eyes widened into moons. Keith quickly wiped the tears off of his face before taking those tan, calloused hands into his own.

"Lance...you...you may see me as a hotheaded cocky jerk but it doesn't change the fact that I care about you. We all care about you and we cannot save this damned universe without our sharpshooter," Keith stated, wiping away the boys well earned tears. Lance has been through so much and the team didn't even know.

"Bu-But I'm just the...seventh wheel..."

"You are our seventh wheel. The machine won't work if it's missing a part." Keith laughed nervously. He didn't know if he was saying the right things or not, but all of his doubts soon disappeared once Lance started to chuckle. 'So cute...'

"Was that supposed to make me feel better?"

"Did it work?"

"Do you have a mullet?" Lance retorted before pulling his black haired friend into a hug. "Thanks Keith."

"Who else am I gonna pick on?"

"Oh shut your quiznack."

"Once again, I don't think you're using that word right."

"Frick you, Keef," Lance spat, pushing him away an crossing his arms.

"How dare?!" Keith took on an offended face and gasped. "This is how you treat me after I tell you how important you are to me?! How cruel!" Keith glared playfully at him.

Lance blinked for a moment before his skin turned an unusual pink. Keith raised a brow before he placed the back of his palm on his forehead only to be slapped away.

"Don't touch me!" Lance said, he sounded embarrassed.

"Woah, buddy are you okay? What's wrong? Are you cold? Tired? Sick?" Keith asked concerned. He usually hated getting close but this was Lance, someone who's always supported Keith no matter how many times the bickered. He deserved to have a friend he could count on.

"I-I'm fine! I'm great! I'll be going now!" Lance scrambled to his feet before stumbling out of the room, holding half of his face in his hand. Keith sat on the floor confused.

Pidge walked in, looking at the door before glancing at Keith. "I see Lance is up and running around already-what are you doing on the floor?" Keith looked around the room confused as ever.

"Lance just ran away from me," he said, standing up as Pidge walked to him with a smirk.

"Did you try to make a move on him or something?" They lifted her brows teasingly as Keith just got more confused.

"Make a move...?"

"Never mind. What matters is that Lance is alive and well," they said. Keith nodded in agreement.

"Hey Pidge."

"Yeah?"

"Is Lance important to you?" Pidge raised a brow before a soft smile graced their usually cocky face. They looked at the door and crossed their arms.

"Of course. He's like another brother to me. Family."

"Make sure you tell him that more often," Keith said as he walked to the door. "He may be our seventh wheel, but he's just as important as the first."

"It's like a clock. Without its cogs the clock can't work," Pidge slapped a fist in their palm as they said that analogy.

"Exactly. I'm glad we're on the same page. I'll make sure to tell the others that Lance is awake."

"I'm sure they already know. We've been on our toes since he was put in that pod."

"Oh right.. I'll be off training. Later," Keith walked away and shoved his hands into his black pockets.

A small smile graced his face as he remembered the last few minutes that passed by. And Lance looked so...adorable.

'That's not weird to think of a friend that way right? I mean, yeah, Allura's pretty, Pidge is cute, and Lance is adorable. Yeah, it's not weird to....'

"I feel queasy. I should take a nap."
