Bobby was arguing, "It's ridiculous! You need to file a complaint with the police if something is missing! You don't go chasing after it and not definitely going to India, it's not like the thief has left you an address where to find them!!" Sirsi was busy packing her clothes and passport. She was in no mood to explain Bobby, nor does he need to understand all of this. "Have you become immune to whatever I say? Does this make any sense to you at all??!".. He held her hand, "this isn't fair Sirsi.. I deserve to know!" She assured everything is fine and also convinced him that she needs to be in India for her Brother's wedding. "Make sure you get a good dress for the wedding, I will let you know the exact dates" that was her last words. Bobby dropped her off at the airport, he was atleast convinced that he will get to meet her family, she has always seemed like a women from another planet, so many questions unanswered!
Sirsi sat on the airport lounge, she carefully zipped her boarding passes in her hand luggage. After a quick look around, she takes out another mobile from bag. This phone is a very basic set, with no internet access. It merely functions for what it's called! A mobile phone. She called John and informed her arrival time in Delhi.
As it was July, the heat waves in Delhi was killing people. She wore a long green coat, she suffocated within few minutes after the flight landed. She quickly changed to a simple white T shirt and blue Jeans. As she washed her hands in airport restroom, she thought "It's been years, the reflection on the mirror brought back the memories, she left India few years back for her graduation and settled in London. Her instincts was always right, but she wished it to be wrong this time!"
She did not expect that Nalan and Petros to be here at the airport to receive her. They would have had differences but her return has been a much awaited celebration. She hugged them all in joy. Nalan had definitely gained weight, Sirsi made fun of his big belly! Petros looked nothing like she saw, he was looking very handsome. His warm smile and dimples had always been Sirsi's favourite. The laughter continued in the car as well. Nalan had already started with the wedding plans, with Sirsi's arrival he was just super excited. She felt home again, looking at the pictures and sipping tea with biscuits. But, the unsettling thought disturbed her deeply. It was all she had!! The Nataraja statue is the only thing she had after they migrated, why would someone take it away! Petros shouted her name for the last time, "Is it the jet lag? Sleep for a while, you seemed lost" he said.
Petros might be the youngest one, but he had the courage and determination like no one. He sensed something was off, but also knew this was going exactly as planned!!
