《1st POV》

"Could I get a size [Shoe/Size], please?" I asked politely of the middle-aged lady.

Turning around and searching the little cubbies, she sets them on the desk before punching in the rent cost into the cash register. Handing my money, she did a double-take when giving me my receipt. "Hey, don't I know you...?"

"Y-You do?" I sweat, wondering if my life story just got leaked.

"Y-Yeah," she begins to grin, "you used to come here with that green-haired boy, about this small." She dropped a hand to indicate child size.

"You probably don't know me, but I would always talk to his mother when you two would skate. I worked here before in my teen years...well, I'm back here for the moment."

That was right, the good old days where Izuku and I continuously dragged his mom here just to go ice skating for me. Ever since Deku found out my quirk was ice, he suggested bringing me here.

I didn't even know this place existed I'd it weren't for him. The first day was magical, and Izuku seemed to notice that. He got all excited and kept urging his mom to take him and I here almost everyday. And that's how our friendship built up.

I felt my heart fill with warmth. "Yeah," I answered with a grin.

"What happened to you two love birds? I've never seen you all come back," she teased.

"L-Love birds?!" I quickly surrender.

"Ah, sorry, it just seemed like it. You two not only had fun but figure-skated gracefully," she breathed laughter just before she blinked in realization. "Oh, right, I must get back to my job. Well, it was nice seeing you....uhm--"

"[Y/n]," I smiled.

"[Y/n]," she nodded in greeting, "oh, feel free to use the second rink. It's quite empty today, but I'm sure you'd wanna try one of your figure skating moves again, huh?"

"Thanks, Mrs...?" I ask telling by her wedded ring.

"Honey, feel free to call me Isai. And you're welcome," she smiles, and she leaves to the back with boxes.

Sitting at the lowest bleacher in front of the empty 2nd rink, I tie my ice skates on. I wonder if I could still balance...Of course though, I would be fine if it were my own feet--after all, my quirk is ice--but it's not as swift and graceful as these sharp babes.

Taking a first step on the rink, I fell into immediate shock as the blade slid, pushing me off balance. My hands search for something to grab in panic. However, arms fall under my biceps, and my heart tightly squeezes since my expectation of hitting the ground got interrupted.

"Woah, careful," he had a nice almost stoic but calming voice. Tilting my head up, my eyes meet apathetic but calm purple orbs above visible eyebags. His hair too was purple, and it spiked up.

"Mind if I join you?" He asks as if to break my staring.

"Y-Yeah--I mean no!--it's alright, I don't mind," I nodded embarrassed, trying to pick myself up before slipping again to which he caught me.

He chuckled quietly, his shoulders bouncing. "Have you ever ice skated before?" He tilted his head.

"Y-Yeah," I answered, not attempting to get back up. "But that was a long time ago."

"Would it be fine if I helped you?" He grinned small, and I blinked at him in slight awe of his courtesy. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't even introduce myself, I'm Shinsou."

"[Y/n]," I replied as he tilted me straight up. Already standing on the ice, he offers a hand. Staring at it, I blink once. Shit, if I want to balance it would be through holding hands. That's what Deku and I did for the first few weeks.

But I don't know why I was feeling queasy and embarrassed. Maybe it was because I just met this guy, and he already wants to hold hands. I snorted at my joke before just taking it.

In a matter of 5 minutes--and falling two more times--I got my balance and decided to try out the figure skating moves I used to do when I was little.

Striding around the rink as fast I could, I kick a leg up before forcing a quick spin before sticking the landing, and my other leg swipes in a half circle for the regained balance.

Shocked at myself for not feeling the slightest imbalance, I let the momentum guide me as I just stand upright.

"Okay but weren't you just falling on your face a moment ago?" Shinsou came up by my side.

"Like I said, I used to skate like a lot," I shrugged as he now skated backwards to face me. "I was honestly expecting to fall on my face again."

"Well, I know some moves too, so let's try em." He chuckled, taking my hand, and I blush.

"So, you're a high school student too or?" I began as he guided me.

"Yeah," he nodded, twirling me before pulling me extremely close in an almost like a tango pose.

"W-Where do you go?" I asked as he distanced himself for another spin.

"U.A."

Feeling my heart stop, so did my feet, causing the blades to scrape harsh across the ice. And to which Shinsou didn't take aware of just in time, his body knocked into mine, and we fell.

"Woah, s-sorry, are you alright?" He asked, getting up only halfway, elbows and arms by my side.

"Y-Yeah, it's just, I go there too..." I blinked into his purple eyes.

"Ah, I see, what class?" He grins, still not getting up, and I'm awkwardly underneath him. I don't know if it was me or it seemed like he was getting closer, but I had to search my brain as I forgot what class.

"1-A," I finally answered, and he paused, his eyes widened in slight shock. Finally and without a word, he got up, lending out a hand. Taking it, I wonder if I should ask him which one he was in too.

"I'm from 1-B," he says casually, but his face falls in indecisive doubt.

I then understood, and I nervously laughed, scratching the back of my neck. "Oh, that's right...you guys hate us...aHahOahA." Shit, even my laugh's weird.

"Something like that..." he answers, tilting his head, showing now the casual expression from the first time. "But I guess you're cool." He grins.

Smiling half comfortably, our eyes break contact as my phone began to ring. "Ah, excuse me," I fumbled to my back pocket. I answer it immediately without looking at the contact already guessing it was Todo.

"[Y/n], where are you?" Todo asked concerned.

"Out, why?" I asked.

"Because I'm standing outside your house after the hundred texts I sent you," he says.

Quickly glimpsing at the notifications at the top, I laugh nervously as I hadn't noticed. He talked something about bringing takeout for me. "Sorry, I didn't see them. I'm at the old skating rink. I'll come home right now...Hai, bye."

Clicking off the call, I turn my attention back to Shinsou. "Gotta leave so soon?" He sighs quite disappointed.

"Oh, hai," I nodded, "it was nice meeting you. See you at school?"

"Not really," he tilted his head, and I blink not understanding and from slight embarrassment. "Remember, we hate each other." He gives a friendly side-grin though, and I do too.

"Right!" I point a finger gun.

"See you next time, [Y/n]."
