Chapter 9

"No, No" my father soothed, "I'm going to teach you to control it little one. It's going to be okay, remember you're the first of your kind, its going to be tough at first, but we'll get there. You're special. Please don't think of yourself as a monster, my child. You are so special to me, more than you will ever understand. You are no monster, not even close." I wish I could believe him but I all I've heard so far is I can cause war, I'll feel everyone's pain, my tears can cause chaos and I'm glowing cause I need to tend to a god. I feel like a fucking servant. "Honey, you know how to orb, so I'm going to need you to focus on the pull your feeling, feel the persons emotions, their surroundings, their energy, let your body go to them" Dad whispered. As if on cue, my body felt like it was warm, light, fizzling and tingling. I was about to orb. I felt an overwhelming sadness, I was trying so hard not to cry. This sadness was out of tremendous loss. What the hell was I about to walk into? Right as I was about to orb, I grabbed my dads' arm and made him orb with me. Like hell if I was going to go through this alone.

We had orbed into a different realm called Gilerohs. I've been here once as a child and the only thing mother told me was this was a place of sorrow. I had a somber feeling I'd be called here more often than I'd like to in the future. There was no one in sight where I had orbed, it was just a dimly lit grave yard. I turned to my dad and asked "Now what do I do? I'm still glowing but the feeling isn't as strong. I just feel sad and like I need a drink and a nap." My father rolled his eyes knowing I shouldn't be drinking at such a young age but I went to parties in Olympus and I experimented. "Now little one, focus on the sadness, start to walk towards whom you feel is calling for you. It takes practice with this one, because this is a place of sadness, but there is only one in particular who is calling for your healing" he explained. I started to walk towards the big blooming weigela bushes, breathing in their scent. It was calming, helping me focus on what I needed to, centering my thoughts. I saw a small walking path by the lilac trees, the moon light hitting the top of a family crypt with a name written in Greek that I couldn't make out. If this place wasn't kind of creepy, this would have been a beautiful sight. I walked slowly over to the crypt, It was made of an exquisite marble and granite. Dark and light colors, swirled together in perfect unison. The doors were made of gold and left slightly ajar, I peeked through and saw my brother Ares on his knees. I slipped thru the opening and went to my brother. He wasn't a crier so I couldn't imagine what would have him this upset. He's the God of War, most everyone tries to keep him happy. I tilted my head to the side and spoke softly "Brother? What on Olympus are you doing in Gilerohs?" I questioned. He looked up with red eyes, trembling, he reached his big arms out and embraced me into a hug. "Sister, father has done something terrible." He cried. "What did he do?" Hades barked. Ares looked up confused, he didn't realize we were not alone. "Oh, Uncle Hades" Ares stiffened, "What are you doing here?" I could see the confusion on both their faces. "I could ask you the same thing boy, are you the one who called Ambrosia?" Hades asked. "Yes, I did, I need her. She needs to know what father has done" Ares said. I could tell something wasn't quite right with him. He was shaken to the core with sadness, anger and something else I couldn't quite put my finger on. "Well, Ares, out with it. What has Zeus done?" Hades questioned. "You might want to sit down, this is going to be rough, but Mother is missing" Ares cried.

"What!" screamed Hades, "when did she disappear? Are you sure your father is the one who did it? He demanded. My brother looked annoyed that he was being shouted at, but when it came to our mother, Hades never messed around. "He was the last one seen with her, they were on their way back from the mortal realm, I was following them and that's all I remember" Ares claimed. "You're sure you weren't followed yourself? Do you have any markings on you?" I asked. Ares lifted his shirt and revealed the mark of the thunderbolt. "It seems daddy dearest must of caught on and he hit you with the bolt. He did the same thing to Hades and nearly killed him just a few days ago in the mortal realm" I explained. "Ares you're going to have to let me heal you to full health, or you're going to start to get sick. We can't have the God of War out sick, not when we are on the cusp of war with our dear ol dad" I said. "You know, I'm suppose to be the big brother, saving and protecting you. Not the other way around" chuckled Ares. As I began to start healing my brother, I knew I had to tell him about my calling for war, but would he be upset? Would he be proud and want me to call war with him? I just hoped most of all he would accept me. "Um, brother, I do need to speak to you about something. But in order for you to understand, I need to start from the beginning okay?" I whispered.
