A new beginning

chapter 11: learning fire dragon slayer magic

Sorry for taking so long i was busy, but yeah at least im updating. Thank you guys for helping me out on the dragon names you awesome XD

lucy's p.o.v

after the party was over i went to my room and changed into my night gown. i was so tired i didnt even feel like doing anything, so instead of reading a book like i usually do before bed, i jumped into my bed and snuggled into my soft warm covers. i was so excited for tomorrow that i didn't even realize i fell to sleep, dreaming of what the next day would be like.

~the next day~

i ended up waking up to a loud nocking on my door, and i groaned. "LUCY WAKE UP OR YOULL MISS BREAKFAST AND TRAINING" sura yelled from the other side of my door. i sighed annoyed before her words sunk into my head. 'oh yeah! today i start to learn dragon slayer magic!' i thought happily jumping out of my bed, and putting on a pair of light grey sweats and a black tank top. i ran to the bathroom to brudh my hair and teeth before looking my self in the mirror. 'wow i still look cool even in plain training cloths.'

i shook my head before running to the dinning hall...at least i think it is...i'm just following the scent of bacon and eggs. once i got there i saw some of the other dragons like snow and igneel sitting down and eating. sura saw me standing near the door way and draged me to her side of the table is where younger kids were sitting. 

some of them were around 8-10 while the rest were fairly close to my age. i sat next to sura and she put a plate full of aggs, bacon, and sasuages. i rose my eyebrow at her but she only grined ''if your going to become a dragon slayer your going to have to get used to eating a lot." she said as if reading my mind. i only nodded before sigging in already knowing that i am going to need as much energy as i can possibly get before my training.

when every one was done i got up and waved back to sura and her friends. i walked up to igneel who was already waiting at the door ''are you ready to train?'' he asked with a huge grin plastered on his face seeming just as excited as i am, i nodded eagerly before we walked out of the castle.

he pointed at a island infront of us high in the air. it had a valcano and it was mostly red ''thats where we are going to train. i will teach you the basics and get you used to the heat. then we'll go to the next level'' he said while walking a few meters away from me. he glowed bright red before transforming into his dragon form.

''hop on.'' he said and i nodded climbing on to his back and held on tightly as he started flying. ''lucy'' igneel sad sternly making sure i was paying attention, i looked over to him as he continued to fly higher from the ground '' our training is going to start with you being able to summon dragon wings.'' he said, but i only looked at him in shock '' i thought you said we were learning a basic thing?!'' i yelled frightened because i already knew how high we were and that was going to be painful once i actually hit the ground if i failed on summoning the dragon wings.

''you will feel it withen you'r self lucy, you wont fail. the words will come to you naturally'' igneel said before transforming back into a human form, the only difference was that he still had wings and a tail. i felt cold air hit my face harshly as i began falling. i turned so i was facing the ground coming to me quickly and i spread my arms and legs out knowing that this can slow my fall.

my heart was puonding rapidly as i started to think ' i am i sapposed to summon dragon wings if i don't know what to do!' with that thought stuck in my head with other possibilities i closed my eyes. suddenly a spell came into my head as if finally revealing itself to my brain. with little hesitation i screamed the spell out ''elemental dragons hear my plea! i call to thee to give me wings so i can fly!'' (i dont know..it was the only thing that poped into my head the moment...) all of the sudden the air become still and i felt something warm on my back. it was really soothing and it relaxed my beating heart.

i looked back to see a golden wing, there was gentle flames around it that didnt even burn me, nor my cloths thankfully. the goldish flames also had multiple of other colors like red, icy blue, violet, grey, and much more. i was astonished and i even saw a tail that looked the same as the wings it was beutiful. i my wings flaped there was also small stars that flitter before disapearing.

i flew back to where igneel was and grined triumphantly while he had a shocked expression which soon turned into a impressed expression ''very good, you got it on your first try too. well now that i know you have the potential of having fire dragon slayer magic we can start with more harder things, and since i see your a fast learner this should atleast take a year before you get to train with the other dragons.

 i only nodded with a wide smile on my face now even more excited to continue training. when we landed on his island i yelped from the heat burning my feet. i hoped on both of my feet and started to sweat. igneel busted out laughing while rolling on the floor, i stared at him with a skeptical expression while he finally cooled down. he placed his hand on my forhead before muttering something in a different language.

when he finished i glowed a light red and the heat around me seemed  to cool down. when the glowng stoped i stoped hoping on my feet and noticed that the floor didnt seem so hot anymore. ''ok now that your adjusted to the heat we can start the training.'' igneel said as he got into his fighting stance. there was only one thing that went through my mind as i also got ready.

'man i shouldve wore shorts!'

well thats was longer than expected which is probably a good thing for you guys. well i will try and make the next one as soon as possible, and yes i decided to make igneel a little childish even though he is soppsed to be wise and mature but bear with me please. he is still wise and stuff i just decided to make him a little goofy XD well thats all for now
