"Lora, guess what?" Alejandro jogged up to her excitedly after school was over. "What's up, babe?" she asked, tilting her head quizzically. "I've got my first football game of the season tomorrow! Are you coming?" he cheered. Lora smiled at him "Oh my gosh, I can't wait! You fucking bet I'll be there supporting my boyfriend." Alejandro blushed and pulled her into a kiss "I love you, Lora." She smiled "I love you more, Alejandro."
As she slammed her locker shut and they walked out of the school, Alejandro said "So, after the game there's always this sick afterparty. You wanna go together?" Lora tucked a flyaway strand of hair behind her ear and said "Sure! Can I wear the same thing as to the game though?" Alejandro chuckled, amused that she was concerned about that "Of course, angel. You'd look good in anything, anyway, so it doesn't matter." Lora giggled and shoved him playfully "Aw, thanks, Ale. But, there's one tiny problem."
"What?" "I have actually no idea how football works. Like, I know you have to kick the ball into the goal to get a point, but other than that, I don't know any of the specifics," Lora blushed, looking down at the weathered pavement. Alejandro slung his arm around her shoulder as they strolled back home, enjoying the cool autumn afternoon, "No worries. All you gotta do is cheer for yours truly." Lora looked up at him teasingly "Only you? Not Oakleaf High?" He flushed after being caught out and quickly said "I meant all of us! Not just me, but like, especially me." Lora laughed and cupped his cheek "I'll obviously cheer for you the most, Ale."
With a mischievous smirk, Alejandro winked "It's not how I expected you to call out my name, but I'll accept it." Lora gasped as she realised the implications of what he meant. "Ale! You stupid smooth fucker!" The two took off at a run, Alejandro pretending to be scared as he ran away from Lora chasing after him.
The breeze stirred up a few reddish-orange leaves, swirling them around the happy couple as they laughed and talked all the way back to their respective houses. As Lora entered her home, she couldn't help but feel a shiver travel up her spine.
