"Ale ?!"
"Yeah, what's up, angel?"
"I need you to come over. Right now," Lora's trembling voice echoed through the speaker of her boyfriend's phone, her sniffles audible. Alejandro switched into protective boyfriend mode at once "Lora, what's wrong?" "Ale, I'm so scared. I'm sorry for disturbing you but I really need you now," she was sobbing, her perfect facade cracked like a broken ceramic plate. It was around 10 o'clock on a cool Saturday night, and without hesitation Alejandro knew what to do.
Already throwing on his hoodie, I replied "Angel, I'm on my way. What happened?" "I'll tell you when you get here, Ale. I just ... I don't know what to do!" she wept. Alejandro felt as if his heart was being ripped apart at the sound of his girlfriend in such anguish. Hopping into his car, he revved up the engine and drove off. Ale knew had to get there as quick as possible and avoid getting into an accident, so I've tried to keep calm, but it was insanely difficult with the amount of worry he was feeling for Lora.
What could have happened to her? Was this a prank? Lora wasn't the type to fake emotions, so this must have been something awful. His heartbeat sped up as he imagined all the terrible possibilities before he shook his head, clearing his mind and calming himself down. No matter how concerned he was, I needed to be strong for Lora. She was trusting him with her situation, and as her boyfriend, Alejandro had to prove himself worthy of that trust.
After what felt like an eternity, Alejandro finally arrived at Lora's house. I've knocked on the door twice, but upon receiving no reply, I've let himself in. Since it was a weekend, Angelina was at the hospital working the night shift. That meant Lora had been alone.
