•Dahvie's POV•
Jayy left an hour after we had our conversation.
"I'll be back, I promise," he said before he left.
I know he loves me. And I should trust him, but panic washed over me when he shut the door. I started pacing.
After about ten minutes, I sat down with some cereal. I turned on the tv and ate in peace.
My leg was bouncing wildly as I anticipated Jayy's arrival. I don't know where he went, and I don't know why he left either.
I finished my cereal and put the bowl in the sink. I decided to take a nap while I waited. I laid down on the couch and pulled a blanket over my head.
As I shut my eyes, I heard the door open.
"Honey, I'm home!" Jayy called from the front door.
I sat up, letting the blanket fall off.
"Dahvie," he whispered as he made his way to me, with a small bag in his hand. "I got you something. It isn't much, but for now, it'll do." He smiled and sat on the floor in front of me.
"Jayy you didn't have to-"
"Yes. I did. I feel like I needed something to prove that I won't leave you again," he interrupted.
I didn't speak. I couldn't. I had just realized what kind of bag he was holding. It was Tiffany blue. The word "Tiffany's" was written across the front in elegant script.
"Until we decide what we want to do with our lives, I want to know that you're still mine. So I guess until we make it completely official, I bought you this." He pulled out a ring box. "It's a promise ring. I'm promising that I'll never leave you until you get sick of me. I love you, and hopefully you'll believe me this time."
I stared at him. I could feel a smile on my face. I threw my arms around him and pulled him close.
"Jayy, you didn't have to do this. I know you love me and I know you'll never leave me, but this is so fucking sweet. I think I'm gonna cry," I whispered in his ear. "Thank you."
"You're welcome honey," he whispered back.
He pulled away and took my left hand. He slipped the ring on my finger and it fit perfectly. I grabbed his chin, pulled him close, and kissed him.
"I'm keeping you forever," I quickly added.
"I hope so," he smiled.
Shortly after, we went back upstairs to celebrate. I think this is whole Jahvie being official thing is going to be amazing.
