Chapter Four

Kestrelflight nodded. "Alright now we need a leader!" He had yowled confidently, "Who is willing to take the challenge to fight me to become leader?" He asked jokingly. "Nah I'm just jokin. We need someone from Silverpelt's group to be nominated." He flicked his tail in the direction of the group.
Silverpelt looked at the group of her clan, the cats whispered among their groups before looking at her, "We think that Runningwind or Fireeyes should be leader." They stated as Silverpelt nodded.
Kestrelflight nodded. "So between the two, whoever is up for taking the challenge, speak up now." He hollered to them
Runningwind slowly got up, "I'll try," He smiled weakly. "I couldn't anyways," Fireeyes stated.
Kestrelflight seen Runningwind as he was very skinny and frail. "You can, yes. But seeing how...frail you are, lets wait since you are so...weak." He smiled with sympathy. "Fireeyes would you like to take over for now until he gets better?" He asked the cat.
Fireeyes was brave but somehow he was nervous although he nodded. "I will," He said smiling, gaining his confidence again.
Kestrelflight nodded once more. "Alright! We have our deputy and leader! Lets go find a spot to be able to live in! It will be close to the clans but not as close. Also, what will be our clan name?" He asked everyone.
Silverpelt slowly smiled, "How about Fireclan? I know a forest a little further up hill." She spoke up.
"Fireclan" Kestrelflight had repeated the clan name, "No...that's a bit too...usable..Maybe...Lightningclan?"He asked.
Silverpelt smiled, "That's much better." She slowly sat down. "Are we gonna go?" She asked with a squeak in her tone as she was excited.
Kestrelflight nodded. "Yes, you lead the way honey." He smiled and licked her cheek, everyone gathered around waiting to follow.
Silverpelt smiled before making her way to the forest, as they neared it, there was the meadow where SIlverpelt and Kestrelfight had met.
Kestrelflight followed after and chuckled. "Of course you picked here." He smiled and nuzzled her.
Silverpelt cutely giggled and nuzzled back. "It's a good place, you can catch lots of kill here and there is water. Not to mention we met each other here!" She spoke softly.
"It sure is, it's beautiful as well. This will be a perfect place." Kestrelflight nodded and nuzzled her again. "It's just like you, perfect and beautiful." He says then announces. "Alrighty! Let's get some fresh kill and pile it up! We need food." He nodded, "We also need to make two more dens, one for the medicine den and the nursery since every other den is already built." He says as he flicks his tail in each direction.

Silverpelt smiles lightly as she sat down carefully, "What should I help with?" She nuzzled back. "You can help me," Kestrelflight mewed as he flicked his tail. "Show me which one is you're deputy-" He asked as Spiralriver came over to him.
"She will be after she has her kits." She flicked her tail towards Spiralriver, "But for now, its Sunray." She answered.
"No I mean, which one of those cats are you're old deputy?" He asked as he was a bit baffled from being mistaken. Spiralriver perked her ears, "Oh the old deputy from her clan! The one that got me pregnant? Yeah, I forgot his name again." She says as she giggled. "I really am bad at names, I need to get better at that!" She smiled as her tail swayed back and forth behind her.
Silverpelt giggled, "Oh, it was Snowfrost." She licked him.
"Right, then where is he now?" Kestrelflight asked her and rubbed his head gently against hers. Spiralriver blushed at the sound of his name but looked away. "He's resting in his den at Duskclan." Silverpelt smiled as she did the same. "I thought he was coming?" Kestrelflight asked as he continued. Spiralriver looked away from the two mates as she sighed. She sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws neatly. Silverpelt slightly frowned. "He refused before going into his den, maybe he might change his mind?" She asked. "Take Spiralriver with you. Maybe he might after seeing her." Kestrelflight suggested and looked at his sister. Spiralriver perked her ears at the mention of her name and nodded. "We can give it a try." She mewed.
Silverpelt smiled. "Follow me," She walked to Duskclan before stopping looking at her surroundings. (Jenny: can you play snowfrost?)) (Me: Uhm Sure!!))
Spiralriver followed after, slowly as she didn't want to have her kits right at this moment nor hurt herself.
(Jenny: Thanks so much!!!) Silverpelt ended up in front of Snowfrost. "Snowfrost, I know you refused but, do it for your mate." She whispered softly.
Spiralriver waited outside so she didn't get caught.
Snowfrost looked at Silverpelt in utter surprise. "S-spiralriver?" He asked as he stuttered in shock as Spiralriver heard them.
"Yes. we're doing it for her safety!" She paused, "If her clan knows that shes with kits, they wont hesitate to kill her." She stated.
Snowfrost's jaw dropped. "Reedstar will kill her?! But-" He slightly growled as he became protective. He looked at his leader and his clan. "What about them?!" He asked as then he imagined a part of some type of movie or play, of Spiralriver getting murdered by Reedstar. He shook his head, "F-fine! I'll come!" He mewed and got up.
Spiralriver heard a twig snap and she instantly hid behind bushes that were nearby. 'I don't want to get caught...' She thought to herself.
"Thank you," Silverpelt smiled, leading him out the exit. "Spiralriver? It's safe to come out." She called.
A cat came up to them. "Who is Spiralriver?" They growled as the red and black cat shook out its fur. "Betraying the clan I see?" He hissed. Spiralriver's eyes widened as she was watching the cat warn and hiss at Silverpelt and Snowfrost.
Snowfrost snarled quietly. "No, we aren't. We are saving a queen with kits. Now, if you don't mind Crowheart, move or I'll kill you." Crowheart stepped forward challengingly but was shocked that he threatened him. "Make me. Kill me, and betray the warrior code. Like you always have." He snickered.

Snowfrost yowled in fury as he lunged at Crowheart. "I never betrayed the warrior code! You did! By killing our last leader!! Trying to become the next?! Don't even, you traitor!!!! I know what you did!!" He hissed as he got out his long sharp claws and scraped it down his flank. "Say hello to Ripplestar for me! Since you killed him, you'll meet him at the gates." He hissed as he slashed the warriors throat open.
Crowheart snarled as he leapt at him, he tried to dodge him but it didn't work. He yelped in pain as his flank was slashed. "You will never get away with this-" He tried to finish the sentence before his throat was slashed.
Spiralriver gasped as she came out of the buses, not even gasping at the death that just happened but because she was seeing Snowfrost. She blushed as she showed herself. Snowfrost cleaned his claws then dragged Crowheart into an old fox den that had JUST recently been left behind. He walked back to see Spiralriver. His heart was caught in his throat as he was surprised by how big her belly had grown. "I'm sorry I haven't been there for you most of the time..." He whispered as he nuzzled his mate. Spiralriver blushed and purred. "It's okay, Thank you for protecting me..." She mewed and nuzzled him back. Silverpelt blinked before shrugging it off, "He had it coming, he killed our old leader." She paused before silently moaning. "Me and her are near our due dates." She smiled and then continued, "We better get going."
