Evan pulled the keys to his apartment out of his pocket and unlocked the door. He stepped in and closed the door behind him.

"Daddy!" he heard someone call out, and then he saw a blur of red hair as Kayla charged into him. Evan caught her and swung her up in his arms.

"Hi Pumpkin! How was your day?" he asked, giving Kayla a kiss on the nose.

"Fun!" she said back.

"Well, what did you do?" Evan asked again.

"The teacher took us outside to study flowers. I caught a grasshopper and put it on Lindsey's head, but it jumped off before she noticed." Kayla chattered, as Evan carried her into the main room.

"Silly. Next time leave the grasshopper on the ground. Okay?" Evan said and Kayla nodded.

"Irene! Irene, come back here!" they heard Bell yell, and then a small butt-naked three-year-old came streaking from the direction of the bathroom. She was soaking wet, and when she grabbed Evan's leg, it got the pants all wet.

Bell appeared in the doorway, hands on her hips. "Irene, com here! You can see Daddy in a minute! NOW!" Bell ordered, taking a step near her.

"I'm clean already! I don't need to finish my bath." Irene tried to argue, and that argument was met by a whack on the derriere from Bell.

"NOW!" she ordered again.

With a pout, Irene let go of Evan's leg and stomped back to the bathroom.

"Have fun!" Evan called after Bell, who had fallowed Irene into the bathroom.

"Hush up!" Bell called back in a loving tone.

Evan laughed as he put Kayla said, who went to finish her drawing. He sat down on the couch and flipped on the TV.

After awhile, Bell came back in the room.

"Where are Irene and Selen?" Evan asked.

"I put them to bed, Selen was out like a light, and Irene put up a fight. Irene has been annoying all day, and I've just not calmed her down. How was your day?" Bell said.

"I've had better days." Evan responded.

"Aw, come here," Bell said, and began to massage his shoulders.

"That feels good. I have to go to Kayla's school tomorrow, one of those career days. It should be fun." Evan said, moving his shoulders under Bell's hands.

"It's Kayla's bedtime. I'll let you put her to bed." Bell whispered and dropped her hands. Evan groaned, in disappointment of losing his massage.

"Kayla, it's time for bed! You don't want to be late tomorrow!" Evan called, rising from the couch. Bell watched as the two chattered about the next day.

After they went into Kayla's room, Bell stood up to take a shower. Evan tuned off the light in Kayla's room, and went to Irene's and Selen's. By now, Irene was asleep. Her wet brown hair was all over her face. Evan gently moved them aside, and Irene stirred a little. "Good night Irene." He said, and pulled the cover up around her. Evan repeated the pattered once more on Selen.

"Kayla, come on! If you don't hurry, I'll leave without you!" Evan called.

"Coming Daddy!" Kayla yelled back from her room, and ran out to meet him.

"Evan, I'm going to take Irene and Selen to Mothers, while I got to the store. Is there anything you need?" Bell said from the kitchen.

"No, I don't think so. Oh yeah. I do! Come here and I'll tell you!" Evan answered.
