I was nervous. And it was written on my face. "We don't have to." Greyson started and I was quick to respond. "It's a good nervous, Grey." I smiled at him reassuringly. "It better be." He mumbled and I laughed, pushing him lightly. "Okay, go." He kissed me quickly. "See you downstairs baby." He grinned. My stomach filled with butterflies as I stared at the dress I picked out. I picked up the phone and called my mom. I waited but got her voice mail. "Hey mom, please don't be mad. I wanted so badly for you guys to be there when I got married. I know growing up I swore I could never love anyone after what happened and I could never see myself fully trusting anyone ever again but I promise you I am the most happy I've ever been in my life. We're getting married today. It's just us." I paused. "I thank you and dad so much for raising me into the person I am today. I probably wouldn't even be here today. Anyways, I love you both. I'll call you tomorrow." I hung up the phone and my emotions got the best of me. After my child hood I promised myself no one would ever get a chance to see the real me. I had two parents who never wanted me or cared for me. I had a mom who after I did something no child should have to do, left me. Literally left me, in the apartment for days by myself before one of her friends found me. It took years for me to love my parents and now, I have someone who's proven to me time after time that I am the most important thing to him. And I've never felt safer in my life.
I composed myself and put on the dress. I was anxious as I stepped out of the room and down the stairs. Greyson stood waiting, now dressed in a nice shirt and black pants. He looked up and my breath caught in my throat. Our eyes locked and every nerve I had melted away. He held his hand out for me and I took it. The look of pure adoration in his eyes made my eyes start watering again. His hands cupped my face, brushing his thumbs under my eyes. "Why are you crying baby?" He whispered. "I spent my whole life wanting someone to love me for me. Something my own parents couldn't do. And the look you have in your eyes when you look at me..." He smiled. "Baby I will spend the rest of my life loving you for you. Devoting myself to you. Your parents never got the chance to understand what they were missing. But now you have an amazing family who will love you forever." He kissed my head lightly. "Now lets go get married, Mrs. Reynolds." I smiled, lacing my fingers in his. We walked out and onto the beach where I saw my family standing next to his. "Did you really think I'd marry you and not have your family here?" He whispered in my ear, wrapping his arms around me tightly. My mom, dad, brother and his wife, Joey, Marissa, Adam, and grandma stood there, smiling widely. I turned around in his arms, hugging him tightly. "I love you so much." My voice was muffled as I buried my face into his chest. "You can't be crying in our wedding photos." He jokes and I laughed, pulling out of his chest. "Thank you." He grinned down at me, kissing me one last time. We walked hand in hand to the small altar where the minister stood. "Alright, we shall begin." He spoke. I'll be honest, I completely zoned out on what he was saying. I focused on Greyson and Greyson only. The last year and a half leading up to all of this has been hectic and insane and I would have promised you this is not where I'd be today, but it is.
I felt him nudge me and snapped out of it. "I do." I said quickly, making him chuckle. The minister smiled, placing leis around our necks. "I now pronounce you, Mr and Mrs Reynolds." My smile grew and he pulled me into him, kissing me deeply. I clung to him tightly, wanting this moment to never end. "You're all mine." He said pulling away, resting his forehead on mine. "I love you so much." I mumbled. We pulled away to the cheering of our families. I finally got the chance to hug my parents. "I can't believe he brought you guys here." I sniffed. "I am so happy for you, baby." My dad said kissing my head. "I am not happy you didn't tell me in person, but I am happy that you're happy." She also kissed my head, grinning ear to ear. "You're not upset?" I asked looking at them. My dad laughed. "How could we ever be? You deserve the world, Grace. And we couldn't be more proud of the woman you've come to be. Greyson's a good guy, who we know will treat you right." Greyson's arms wrapped around me tightly. "Thank you again, Mr and Mrs. Davidson for your blessing." He spoke. My heart grew in size. He asked them for their blessing. "Alright alright, move. My baby sister is no longer a baby." Ryan and Joey pulled me into a bear hug, all but suffocating me. "Guys. Please." They pulled away and I smiled. "I'm glad you guys came." I'd been non stop smiling for about 20 minutes and my cheeks physically hurt. "Have you guys met Greyson's family?" I asked. "We haven't really had time." My mom laughed.
Greyson grabbed my hand, leading us over to where they stood. "Oh my god, you're so gorgeous!" Huston squeezed me tightly. I thanked her. "While I wish you would have let me dress you, this will do." Gerald said and I rolled my eyes playfully. "Mom, Dad, I'd like you to meet Juliet's family. This is Jason and Ashley, her parents. Her brother Ryan and his wife Sophie, her cousin Joey, her lovely grandmother Antonette, and Marissa who you've already met." Marissa rolled her eyes at him but kept her mouth shut. "It's so lovely to meet you all! We love Juliet to death! My names Emerald, this is my husband Gavin. This is my youngest, Jessie. Then we have my daughter Houston and her fiancé Taylor. My son Gerald and his husband Chris. And my parents Lynda and Hugh." Everyone got acquainted and I was happy his grand mother didn't seem to be showing how much she dislikes me to my family. Greyson tugged me away, back inside by the staircase. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me deeply. I relaxed into his arms and reached up, running my fingers through his hair. He lifted me off the ground, holding onto me tightly. "I never want today to end." I said pulling away slightly. "I have another surprise for you baby, but we'll have to get your family settled on the island first." "Thank you so much for bringing them here. And your family. I know your grandma doesn't like me but it means a lot the have them here, all of them." "She'll get over it. Besides, it's too late now, Mrs. Reynolds. What's mine is now yours. And when we get home a lot of things will change for you." I sighed, already knowing some of those changes. "I don't care about the title of a Reynolds. I have you and that's all I want." He smiled. "I know, but you deserve everything that's about to happen." He kissed me deeply again, holding onto me like his life depended on it. "I love you to the moon and back." He whispered, kissing my head. I couldn't help but laugh at the cheesiness. When he pouted I kissed him lightly. "I love you to Pluto and back." I winked, pulling him back outside.
