Keith looked around. He had been separated from his twin, he was worried about her she was shyer and less likely to talk to people unless talked to first. Suddenly a girl caught his eye. She was mysterious with raven hair. He racked his brain, she was in his year but what was her name. He decided to find out himself.
"Hey" he said sitting down next to her. She jumped "Oh, hi" she said, quietly.
"My names Keith"
"I'm KC"
"So, what do you think of Hogwarts so far?"
"It's just as mother described it"
"I didn't really know what to expect, I'm a halfblood but my mum, who was a witch died before she could teach us. Of course my dad knew about it and he told us but we never knew what it really meant"
"Okay everyone" a person wearing spectacles and with their hair in a low ponytail. "I'm Jay, I am one of your prefects, if you're having trouble telling wether I am a boy or a girl it is because I am neither, clubs are listed over there on the noticeboard and quidditch is not allowed to be played by first years." They said in a monotone "now if you excuse me I am going to bed" they sauntered off and a doorway shimmered into view, Jay went in and it disappeared.
"They seemed ok" KC said, smiling slightly.
"Yeah, I wonder where our other prefect is"
"They'll probably introduce themselves later"
"Should we go over to check out the clubs?"
"Sure"
Keith and KC walked over to the noticeboard.
"Hey there's wizards' chess"
"And gobstones"
"What's that?"
KC laughed "I'll have to show you once you joined the club"
"Well I guess I'll have to then"
Both KC and Keith's names appeared on a sheet below the flyer.
"So what's it like being raised in the wizarding world?"
"Boring, my family only cares about tradition and blood-status, so they'll flip out once I tell them I got into Gryffindor"
"At least you'll only see them once a year if you choose too"
"True"
"I'll see you after class?"
"We have the same class silly, it's sorted by years and houses"
"Oh, well I'll see you after I get my books"
KC laughed and walked up the stairs to the girl's dorm. Keith liked it when she laughed, it changed her from looking out of place to lighting up the room.
