Chapter 40: Draco

Today was the first meeting of Draco's group. He was put in a group with Harry and some younger years. Stacie had decided that instead of all the original members being together that they could be put with younger years to be mentors to them and help them out with club-related things.

Draco looked around the room and saw that in his group there were a couple of first years from the sorting ceremony. Two girls, one Draco recognised as Nova, one of the twins, the other was a girl with chestnut hair and hazel eyes, he hadn't seen her before.
"Hey guys, welcome to our first meeting, I'm Harry, as many of you know, and this is my boyfriend Draco" Harry said to the small group. Draco waved and continued on from Harry as they had planned "we're your group leaders and we would like to start by saying welcome. Please you around the room and state your preferred name, pronouns, gender and sexuality". Nova was up first. "Umm. My name is Nova, she/her I guess, and I haven't really figured out the rest" she mumbled. The chestnut haired girl went after her. "I'm Simone, she/her, trans girl, Aromantic Asexual with a hint of Demisexual on the side" she smiled. The rest of the group went after with she/her's, he/him's, they/them's and even more unusual pronouns. "They're called neo pronouns" a second year, who went by Gem and used zie/zier explained. Draco had never heard of them and made a mental note to do more research into the concept of them as well as brushing up on genders and sexualities. This meeting made him a realise he still had a lot to learn.
After the meeting had finished the group chatted for a little while longer. Draco trying to memorise the names and pronouns of their group. By the end of the meeting he was feeling exhausted. "I'm going to bed" he mumbled to Harry.
"I'll see you tomorrow then" Harry said giving Draco a hug and a kiss. Draco walked slowly out of the room of requirement and down to the Slytherin dorms.
