Maihua POV:

She was perfect and we were kissing and I wanted nothing more than to be with her when my sister Goanha had to walk in.

"Maihua OMG!! Can you give me some warning when you have a girl over at least?"

Marissa sat up and I could see Gaonha's surprised expression, I guess she recognized Marissa.

"Wow Marissa, it's so good to see you! Um I'm sorry to interrupt, Maihua just never tells me anything!"

"Oh yeah of course good to see you too." Marissa looked at me, panicking a little. I knew she might be afraid of Gaonha telling, but of course she wouldn't

"Gaonha, don't tell anyone about this ok. We can talk later of course but I don't think Marissa wants this out, right?" I saw her relax a little and give a little smile to me.

"You know I don't talk, Maihua. Well, bye! Have fun!" I love Gaonha. I don't know what I would do without her.

I looked over at Marissa and she was unreadable. I don't know what was going on inside her head.

Marissa POV:

I realized it was never going to work with Maihua and me. Her sister had clearly walked in on Maihua and other girls before and Maihua was no stranger to love and relationships. This was my first one! Also, I could never get out of the pressure from my parents. There was no way I could live with them and come out to them. Maihua deserved more than a secret relationship. There was no way to make this work. Heat rushed to my face again, but this time I wasn't blushing. I was on the verge of tears.

"I have to go." I turned my face away from hers.

"What do you mean Marissa? My sister won't tell, ok."

"I can't do this."

"Why not? I thought you liked me."

"It doesn't matter."

"Tell me what's wrong!"

"You want to know what's wrong? What's wrong is that I like you but my parents would never accept me. What's wrong is that I can't love you because I don't even know what love is because I've never gotten the chance to experience it. Everything's wrong and it's all because I like you!" I turned to walk away, tears streaming down my face. She grabbed my hand as I had earlier, but it was so much more forceful. She brought me face to face with me and cupped my cheek in her hand, wiping away some of my tears.

"You think I know how to love? Marissa the last girl I dated destroyed everything I thought I knew about love. I don't know what love is either but I'm willing to give it a try with you. I don't care about your family right now because we can get through all that together if you only give me this chance. Aren't I worth it?"

"That's exactly it. You're worth so much more than me." I broke free of her hand and ran out, calling Natalie to come pick me up. "Natalie...I need you. I need to talk to you. Can you please come and get me? I'll text you the address... please."
