Hidden Eyes

Chapter 6

A guy that was in his 60s with gray almost white hair and small beard and mustache was standing there, he was wearing a sleek fancy suit. He waved us in and we followed him into I figured was his office. Which was pretty nice, despite that it was not decorated fully. I find that weird considering he's the person in charge of, well whatever this is. Still waiting to be told what is going on and everything.

Mom points to the couch basically telling me to sit there, so I did. Cause I'm going to listen to her knowing that I don't have a clue what's going on, so why would I not listen. I watch John pour two glasses, handing one to my mom and the other one for him.

"So you know what your mother does?" he asks me while pulling a chair around to face me.

I twirl my thumbs but answered anyways "Not really, well from I heard she's a spy of some sort. But other than nothing."

Nodding his head "Well from what I was told she didn't even know you were doing that. And she is one of our top agents. But this is my organization The Erebus Quadrant, we do private contracts and everything."

I look over at mom in shock, all she did was smile and nodded her head.

"You seem shocked, which is understandable hearing your mom works for a spy agency. That's extremely secretive and everything." he says bringing me back to look at him. "So I was wondering if you would like to work for us, you would help your mom on her current assignment which you would know about a little since it happened in front of you."

"You still be able to have a normal life when you don't work, I thought you be really good at this." mom adds on.

I sat there and think for a little while, then I look up. "I'll do it, as long as I can still have some type of normal life."

Mom lights up like a light bulb and John smiles and turns to her "Cassandra I know you are very happy now. But we now have to get him in the system and everything, and if you like his desk can be by your office."

She nods and puts her glass down "Yes I would like that and Cody follow me." she tells me and leads me out of his office.

I follow her to her office and walked in, it's like all the other ones I walked passed. Simple only a few things to make it hers, photo of our family, a vase with flowers, and a painting on the wall.

"So that's where the swan painting went." I say when I see it.

Mom just blushes and nods "Yeah I took it cause it's my favorite and put it in here. It makes it more cozy."

I agreed with her and I sat on her desk watching her. She was turning on her computer and started putting information on paper about me. She asked me questions and I answered them for her. After about an hour of answering questions, a heavy set lady comes into her office.

"You have that file for me Cassandra? And who is this." she says when she sees me on the desk, giving that hungry eye look.

"Sandra, that's my son Cody so don't even think about it. I also have it ready for you too." mom tells her handing her the file she was filling out about me.

She didn't leave right away just looked at me more before backing away and leaving. I turned to look at mom curious about what just happened.

"You know that show you love, that is spy show. Starts with an A, but anyway she is like that Pam girl on there." she tells me and continues to type on her computer.
