"Holy shit."

Tom picked shaddow up and cradled it in his arms. Swinging it around like it's his child. "That's my boy!" He said placing shadow on his head. "Or girl." He shrugged. Alaya chuckled.

"It's a male." Alaya stated as-a-matter-of-factly.

The party stared at the dead bodies of the hell hounds. "So," Hugo says, "what's next?"

"Says to carve out it's head and stick the gem there." Alaya says, holding the box of gems.

"Ugh," Tom says, "i'm getting queasy just thinking about it."
"Says the guy who threw a goblin in the air, shot it, making it rain blood whilst singing a god forbidden song." Hugo replies with a snarky comment. Alaya giggled.

"I mean, your hair is blood soaked." Alaya points to his hair, what used to be brunette is a reddish brown gory colour. A blood soaked shadow sitting smugly atop it.

"Well," tom says trying to back his statement, "I-" he paused, trying to think of a snarky comment. "Just get it over with." He gave in.

After a while of staring into the dead eyes of the beasts, Tom and hugo look over to Alaya. "What?" Alaya shrugs at them. "You're a druid, why dont you do it?" Tom says, throwing a dagger at her.

"I'm a druid, not a pathologist." Alaya tosses the dagger back to Tom. Tom throws it back.

They throw the dagger back and forth until, they hear a bush rattle.

Tom catches the dagger and points it towards the bush. "Who is it?" Tom says in the most threatening voice he could muster.

A pair of hands popped out of the bush. "I-i mean no harm!" A squeaky voice says. Tom couldn't figure out if the voice belongs to a male or female's voice.

"Exit the bush." Tom says, not lowering the dagger. A small, what seems to be, male yuan ti pureblood with blonde hair exits the bush. He was wearing a millitary uniform. He had such a small frame, Tom couldn't picture this man in the army.

He looked up and met his eyes with Tom. He was quivering, clearly frightened. His lips was small and pronounced, quite feminine, if you think of it, everything about his body was quite feminine.

He sat down on the ground. Legs close to his chest. Tom realises the medical corp insignia on the top left of his uniform.

"You scared us half to death." Alaya sighed and approached him. "I'm Alaya, that's Hugo and that's Tom. We're the Troublesome Three. What's your name, sir.." Alaya looked at him, confused.

"C-carl. From the army of Qlac." Carl says, loosening up a bit. His voice was awfully high to be a male's voice.

"Shit, i'm bi." Tom mumbled under his breath, staring at Carl, blank faced.

Carl didn't seem to notice. "What brings you out here, Carl?" Hugo asks. Carl didn't answer, he just looked to the ground. He shrank further down.

Crap, he's cute. Tom thought then immediately mentaly slapped himself.

"I see your a millitary doctor." Alaya commented. Carl nods. "Do you mind doing us a favor?" Alaya asks. Carl looked at Alaya and tilted his head. It made Tom skip a beat. "No, i dont."

Alaya smiled. "I know it sounds weird but, could you carve out the skull of these hell houds and stick this gem in it?" Alaya fidgeted a little.

There was a silence, then Carl giggled. Tom had a mini heart attack. Hugo took notice and started teasing Tom. "Shut up." He mumbled.

"That's not the worst thing someone has asked me to do." Carl says. "I can do it." Alaya's eyes light up. "Great!"

"Umm, Tom, correct?" Carl looked at Tom. Tom solemnly nodded. "M-may i borrow your dagger?" Carl asks, scratching the back of his neck. Tom slid the dagger over to him.

"Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Dont be scared
You better be prepared
Go on and kiss the boy~" Hugo whispered in Tom's ears. Tom flips him off.

Carl goes over to a hell hound and uses the dagger to make an incision on the skin. "I need a little help." Carl says, wiping the blood of the hell hound on his sleeve.

(Carl's pov)

I hold the cut in place with my finger. I'll need help stretching the skin so i could make the incision on the skull.

I saw Hugo pushing Tom in my direction from my peripheral vision. Tom goes over to me and crouches down to my level. "So?" He asks.

God, i may or may not have a slight crush on this boy, but i highly doubt he likes me back. Because, who would like me? Besides, if he does like me, it's probably because he's gay. If i told him my secret, then i'd be fucked no matter what.

I snap out of my trance and quietly say, "Could you help me stretch the skin of the hell hound so i can bash it's skull open?" Tom chuckled. Crap. That didn't come out like i'd expect it to be.

He complies and does just that. I went around looking for some rough rocks i could use. I found two sharp rocks i could use and rush over to where Tom and the beast were. I start knocking on the skull to make a hole, carefull not to touch the brain.

"Carl," Tom says, i jump as he says my name- if you could even call it that- . "Sorry." I say. "Don't be, i'm sorry." Tom says. "You said this wasn't your worst request? What are the weird things they asked you to do?" Tom asks, intruiged.

I chuckle at the memory.

"I once had a soldier coming over to me with the enemy's dead body asking me if i could amputate the head so they could put it on a stake for display." Tom chuckles. "And what happened after that? Did you do it?"

"It's still on display to this day." Tom laughed. "Gotta go check it out someday." I manage to make a hole in the skull and carefully removed the piece of skull. "Alaya, i need the gems."

Alaya walks over and handed me a box of gems. "One colour per hell hound." I nod and pick up a gem and place it on the exposed brain, being carefull not to damage the brain. "You can let go, Tom." Tom lets go of the skin, the skin wraps around the side of the gem anchoring it to the brain.

I go to the next hell hound and repeat, Tom and I having a nice conversation.

As i hammer the skull of the next hellhound, Tom says, "Hey Carl, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

Holy crap, is he flirting?

I feel my face flush. Then an idea came to my mind. "It hurt more when i fell for you." Holy mother of god, i cant believe i said that.
(Why do you read this)

I see Tom's face turn pink. He started chuckling. I smile to myself as i remove the piece of skull.
