Angie sort of looked sad that Alaya was leaving her.
Alaya tapped Angie's shoulder and said, "Hey, wanna hang out sometime?" Angie looked surprised, but then the expression turned happy. "Of course, I would love to." Angie pulls out a piece of paper from her purse. The paper was used. Mundane tasks on it like: you are going to jafnrétti Hospital and get groceries at the nearby store.
She scribbled down her address on it and handed it to Alaya. "Come anytime," Angie says with a smile.
Alaya pocketed said piece of paper and waved her goodbye.
They all walked into the room they were called to and was met with an old withered lady sitting in a wheelchair. They silently sat on the chair provided for guests as the nurse leaves the room.
"Hello, Mrs Euford," Alaya says quietly, "we are the troublesome three and we are here to send you a letter." Alaya pulled out the said letter and reads it out loud to her.
The woman, or as the letter states, Sarah, has no response. She silently sit there.
"Mrs Euford," Tom says to her, "do you remember Matthew?" Sarah glances up at them for the first time since they entered the room.
"M-m-Matthew?" She reaches out her small, frail, delicate hands to Tom's face. "No," Hugo chuckles as he grabs the letter from Alaya and hands it to Sarah. "This is Matthew."
Sarah shakily grabs the letter and reads it's contents, quite slowly. She points her old, skinny fingers at the words 'Chris and Sam'.
"S-son. Chris. S-sam." The party nods in awe.
"W-where?" She says, tears brimming on her eyes. She tries to stand up but falls to the ground.
A group of nurses rush in the room and picks Sarah off the ground. They put her back on the wheelchair and try to calm her down. On nurse turns around and approaches the party.
"Could you explain what exactly you're here for?" She asks. Alaya explains everything to her.
She nodded her head and said, "Sure, but if you're going to take her, you'd have to bring one of Sarah's volunteer caretakers."
The nurse goes through a small list and smiles. "Sarah's favourite caretaker is free in an hour. Her name is Angie Blooms."
The DID Angie? Alaya thought.
"Please come back in an hour, if you'd like to take her with you." The nurse says sweetly as she escorts the party out of the room.
The door shuts behind the party. "So," Tom starts, "what now?"
The party shrugged.
"Oh, I heard that this place was really accepting and had a lot of recreational facilities." Carl broke the silence, his eyes lighting up.
"I heard there was this huge park with a playground and a fountain. There's a lot of trees there. I heard the thing took up an entire complex!" Carl gushed out. Tom chuckled at his enthusiasm. It was adorable, to say the least.
"You may not be a stray kitten, but you sure look like an excited puppy," Tom says with a chuckle. Carl pouted.
"Can we please go there?" Carl begs Tom. "I don't know, I was thinking of going to the town square."
Carl gave Tom the best puppy eyes he could muster. Tom felt like someone was stabbing his heart repeatedly and struggled to keep in a blush.
"Carl..." A light tint of pink reached Tom's face. Tom looked away and sank to the ground, defeated.
