(Third person pov)

After finishing up the hell hounds, they all sat down and stared, not sure of what's to come.

"So," Tom starts, "what now?" Matthew pops up. "Do we just jump in?" Carl covers his ears. "My, that's loud." (Btw, only Tom, Alaya and Hugo could hear the voices of the souls. To other people it's just a loud ring.)

"We could try that, " Alaya says.

Matthew takes position to the hellhound that has a light blue gem on it. He speeds over to the gem and gets engulfed by it. Matt disappears, leaving the party to question if it worked or not.

The gem glows a bright light blue. Nothing happens.

Tom sank down, head in his hands. Carl goes over to him and pats him on the back, comfortingly. "Hey, it's alright," Carl reassures. His voice calmed Tom down for a bit.

Tom smiles at Carl. Carl repeats the gesture.

The light blue gem hell hound's dead eyes suddenly filled with life as it sparkled. The hell hound blinked and stood up. The hell hound's fur suddenly turned a light blue hue. It shook it's head and opens its mouth.

"I forgot how good it feels to be alive." It says, in Matthew's voice.

Tom jumped up from his place and hugged Matthew. The party breathed a sigh of relief. Carl's eyes widened. "I-it can s-speak?"

Tom introduces the souls to Carl and explains everything.

Carl nods. One by one, the souls enter their hell hound host and come alive. Except Peggy.

Peggy was hyperventilating, too scared to move. "Hey, Peggy," Carl says, trying not to be rude by clenching his ears. "It'll be alright. Just, breathe in four seconds." Peggy does that. "Hold for six."

"Out for eight." After the breathing exercise, Peggy feels a lot calmer. "Okay." She sighs. She positions herself in front of the hell hound and throws herself into it.

Peggy binds to the hell hound and starts prancing around in joy.

The party chuckle at the soul's excitement. Alaya felt a tap on her shoulder, she turned around to see Matthew. "You said you'll contact our loved ones," Matthew says with hope in his eyes.

"Of course we will," Alaya says, reassuringly. The souls smile back at her. "Let's go, " Alaya says to the party. "We'll start with Matthew's family."

Tom and Hugo nods in agreement. Carl fidgeted in his seat and gave a sad smile. Noticing this, Tom looked at Carl and back at Alaya.

"Hey Carl," Tom says, "would you like to join us?" Carl, taken aback by his question goes quiet, with his eyes wide. "Y-yeah." He smiles, to only quickly falter. "Imeanifyouwanttoimokwithstayinghere," Carl says in a waterfall of words. Tom chuckles and smiles widely.

"Hey Al," Tom strode over to Alaya, dragging Carl. He picked him up by the waist and raised him over to Alaya's eye level. Carl looked confused at his actions. "Can we keep him?"

Alaya chuckled. "Yeah, sure." Tom put him down and hugged him like a little puppy. Carl giggled. "You're treating me like a stray kitten."

"I mean," Tom put Carl down, "you are a stray kitten." He ruffled his hair. Carl pouted, making Tom laugh.

"Alright you two," Hugo says, "let's get going." Hugo goes back over to Alaya.

The party walked to the entrance of the forest along with the soul's tagging along behind them.

As they reach the end of the forest, the party walked over the border between open fields and the woods. Peter marches over to the border and tries to get past it. However, he failed to make it out of the woods, for there seems to be a force field stopping him.

He presses harder this time but to no avail. Alaya sighs and goes over to Peter. She pet's his furry head. "Sorry Peter, I think you're going to have to stay here." Peter sighs and nods. "We'll bring back whatever it is you need."

Peter sighs and goes back to the rest of the souls.

"So," Alaya starts, "we'll start off with Matt." She pulls out the letter Matthew wrote and reads the address. " Village of the forgotten, St. Cantell number 29." She says.

They walk to the designated location for quite some time. Their trip was mostly silent until Tom starts. "So, Carl." Carl looks at him nervously. He hums in response. "Tell us more about yourself. You're from Qlac, correct? How do you like it there?"

"Well, um," he took a while to think of the right thing to say, "As you know, Qlac is going through a tough war with Scram. But other than all the deaths, it's a very quiet town. At least it was." He mumbled the last part.

"Did you like being in the army?" Alaya asks. Carl's eyes light up."Of course, it was amazing. It was a nice change of pace fr-" Carl stops himself from talking too much.

He fidgets with his fingers and stares blankly on the ground. He looks back up at the party and sweetly says, "Tell me something about you guys."

"Well, I guess I'll start," Alaya responds with a smile, not wanting to push him much further. "I'm Alaya Clementine and I'm a druid. I come from the Kingdom of Tanya." (ps. If you are my player, you might recognize this as The Kingdom of Serabina. Just to be clear, the kingdom changes names for every time there's a different ruler)

"Hugo Arkson, I am a bard. I come from Ikka." Carl tilts his head at the name, so does Tom. "Ikka?" Tom asks. Higo's smile falters at the realize the extent of what he said.

Alaya leans over to whisper to Tom and Carl. "Oh." Tom says.

"Well, I'm Tom Gerald. I'm a r-"

"Tom, what is your real name?" Hugo cuts him off snarkily.

"F*ck you Arkson." Tom mumbles under his breath. "No, I want to know what it is." Carl says sweetly.

'It has to be illegal to be this cute.' Tom thought to himself. Carl turned a slight shade of pink. "Shit, did I say that out loud?"

"I-t's a country of crime, b-baby!" Carl says, making everyone die of laughter.

One everyone has calmed down, Carl speaks up. "But seriously, I want to know." Tom groans. "Tommy. My name is Tommy Gerald."

Carl giggled, whilst the rest of the gang, excluding Tom, laughed. "I kind of like it," Carl says, "it suits you, in a weird way."

"I have never disagreed more in my life, but I won't argue with you." Tom says. "So Carl, what's your full name and class?" Carl freezes up a bit. "Y-you haven't told me your class yet."

Tom raises a brow but complies. "I'm a rogue and I come from Alchemist Query." He says. "How 'bout you?"

His hands started fidgeting, he looked askance. Carl's eyes land on the destined location and resisted the urge to breathe a sigh of relief.

"L-look, we're close to the village!" Carl says, almost defensively and tuns towards the direction of the village.

The rest of the party look at each other with 'what was that about?' written on their faces. Tom shrugs and runs towards Carl.
