Castiel's panic had shot through his chest as Dean walked in, his breath becoming irregular, his heart racing, and his wings clenching to his sides. As he looked vainly for his clothes, he knew that even if he had his trenchcoat, he wouldn't have been able to get it on in time. It was too late. So as his eyes met the curious green gaze of Dean's, he swallowed thickly, opening his mouth to explain himself, only to be cut off by Dean first.

"Jeez, Cas. What's with you being shirtless when it's like ten degrees outside and like thirty in here? Just look at the goosebumps on you skin.....good God your lips are turning blue!" Dean growled in annoyance, though the tone instantly became protective as he noticed the state of Castiel. Castiel couldn't respond, his jaw slack. Did Dean not care about his wings?

Dean rushed over, ignoring the stupid face that Castiel was making, and wrapped a fluffy orange blanket around the front of his shoulders. Castiel, on instinct, grabbed the blanket to keep it on his body, the warmth beconing him in. He didn't get to enbrace this warmth for long before Dean was looking by their feet, his eyebrows furrowing together. Castiel followed his gaze, his eyes landing on a black object; one of Castiel's feathers.

"Did a bird get in here?" Dean asked curiously, running his hand along the ridge. Castiel shivered, unable to stop his mind from imagining those perfectly sculpted hands running through his wings, sending pleasure straight from his shoulder blades down. Watching as those hands slowly slid from the gentle feathers to his bare..... Okay, Castiel, that's enough. Now is not the time.

"I don't know." Was all that Castiel could respond with. After all, why would Dean think a bird got in when Castiel's feathers were clearly visible? It didn't make any sense to the black-haired boy, until it finally clicked. Maybe they weren't visible.

If Dean had said anything else, Castiel didn't notice. No, instead of listening to his roommate, he was rushing to the bathroom, taking only a moment to turn on the light before almost throwing himself in front of the mirror. His eyes widened as he took in what he saw.

His wings were gone; well, not gone, but almost invisible. The only flaw he saw, and he had to look extremely hard to see it, was the slight shimmer that outlined the edges of the wings, or where they were supposed to be. He let out a half-laugh, half-gasp of amazement as a grin spread across his face. He had made his wings disappear for the first time.

"What are you grinning at?" He heard Dean say, causing Castiel to jump back from the mirror and turning his back away from Dean. He still had to remain careful around his roommate. Just because they were invisible didn't mean that they couldn't be felt or heard.

"Nothing" Castiel replied hastily, meeting the gaze of the boy who had an amused smirk playing on his lips. Castiel, in an attempt to get some clothes on as he actually was beginning to feel the cold - how he  didn't feel it before was beyond him- had tried to walk past Dean. He was left confused, which was clear in the way his eyes narrowed, as Dean blocked the exit.

Castiel met his gaze once more, not realizing he had looked away in the first place. He didn't realize, but this close, he could see the color clearly in his roommate's eyes, and soon became lost in the beauty of them. They reminded him of the plants in Heaven's garden, the color the prettiest green in existance. When he had been to his heaven for his first, and only, time, he remembered that Joshua, the angel that watched over the gardens, had told him that Earth could never have the same beauty and depth of color that heaven had, making it obsenely more beautiful. Yet, here was a human, with the same color green eyes, and Castiel felt as if had went home to heaven when he looked into them, feeling safer than he had ever felt.
