[Chaeyoung's POV]

The school's literary week kicks off next week, and honestly, I'm clueless about what to do. From what I understand, the students are split into four teams.

My friends Dahyun and Tzuyu are teamed up, while I feel like I've been marooned on an island. How will I manage without them? My luck is as dismal as ever.

Today's the day we have our team meetings. I headed to the meeting room with two classmates who are also on my team.

We awaited our upperclassmen, who arrived shortly thereafter.

'Wow, why are there so many people?' I wondered, getting lost in thought and not realizing the meeting had begun.

Fortunately, the meeting was brief, which I appreciated. On my way out, I noticed a group of seniors – turns out we're on the same team.

I went off to find my Tofu and Yoda – that's my nickname for them.

They've been my best friends since childhood. Since joining this school, they're the only ones I really hang out with.

I'm Son Chaeyoung, the new kid. Dahyun and Tzuyu are my only friends. It's not that I dislike people; I just don't talk to strangers.

And yes, I've had a crush. He's a senior from my previous school. I can't seem to fancy anyone younger; I see them as little brothers. It's been 16 months since my crush began, but I've never had the courage to express my feelings. But, whatever.

"Chaeng!" Dahyun interrupted my reverie.

"I'm relieved to have found you," I responded.

"Excuse me, it was actually us who found you," she corrected.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I retorted.

Lunch break arrived, and we headed to the cafeteria and found a table. The three of us began discussing the earlier meeting.

"I don't even know anyone there," I grumbled.

Tzuyu then chimed in, "Your team has some really friendly seniors."

"Really?" I questioned.

"Yeah, i know some of them" Tzuyu announced. Hopefully they will make this week a little less stressful.

I came back home, threw my bag on the bed. I hated being at home - it felt as if I was caged up. I found no meaning in this life. I constantly felt like drowning. After I was done taking a warm shower, I flopped down on the bed. Unaware when i drifted off to sleep.
