11. Saturday surprises

[Chaeyoung's POV]

{The next day~Saturday}

I woke up a little later than usual, relishing the luxury of a school-free day. My mind was consumed with thoughts of Mina unnie. Oh gosh, I really like her. I wonder what she thinks of me.

It's becoming quite clear—I have a crush on her. The realization made my heart race.

 Classes would resume on Monday, but for now, I allowed myself to bask in these feelings.

After dragging myself out of bed, I decided to shower, washing away the lethargy. Post-shower, I checked my phone and was delighted to see a message from Mina.

Mina:Good morning, Chaeyoungie.

7:13 AM

Chae:

Good morning to you as well! Sorry for the delayed response.

9:01 AM

Mina:It's not a problem.

What a pleasant way to start the day. I spent the rest of it watching some K-dramas, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Mina.

[Mina's POV]

Her dimples... she's such an adorable girl. I found myself thinking about Chaeyoung again. She's undeniably cute. Whoever ends up dating her will be incredibly fortunate. She's my girl crush, and there's nothing wrong with that, right?

I pondered the idea of falling for her. The thought made me blush. Ugh, I'm such a fool.My birthday is approaching, and I don't even know when Chaeyoung's birthday is. Should I ask her? No, that would be too forward. I'll ask my friends instead. I wish I could get to know her better—she seems like such a genuinely nice person.

I asked Dahyun about Chaeyoung's birthday and was pleasantly surprised to find out our birthdays aren't that far apart! We all grew closer day by day, and Chaeyoung and I kept in touch regularly.

With just a week left before my birthday, I really want Chaeyoung to come. I'll invite all nine of them, including Bambam. If Chaeyoung has a crush on him, she'll be pleased. He's a close friend, but I'm not sure if he'd want to come as the only boy. 

Regardless, Chaeyoung's presence is what I truly wanted.

I decided to send her a message.

Hey Chaengie?      4:56 PM

Chaeyoung:Yes?       4:59 PM

Uh, will you be free this Saturday?       5:01 PM

Chaeyoung:This Saturday... I may be visiting my grandmother with my family. Why do you ask?      5:03 PM

Owhhh :( Nevermind then.      5:04 PM

Chaeyoung:Is it your birthday?        5:04 PM

Lol, yes. Nice guess.        5:05 PM

Chaeyoung:That wasn't a guess, hehe. I asked Jihyo unnie.         5:05 PM

Lol, Chaeyoung... Anyway, I wanted you to be there too :(            5:06 PM

Chaeyoung:I'm really sorry, unnie. I can't refuse my dad. -_-You all have fun. :( Sorry....           5:07 PM

[Chaeyoung's POV]

Ugh, this is bad! I wanted to be with Mina on her birthday! My crush's birthday! I wondered if I could stay at home instead of going to my grandmother's place.

"Dad?" I called out. "Hm?" he replied. "Is it really necessary to go to grandma's place this weekend?"

"Yes, why?" 

"Actually, it's my friend's birthday." "It's fine if you want to stay. But you know we won't be home that night. Will you be okay alone?"

"Yes. Unless someone comes in and murders me, I'll be fine."

"Okay, you can stay." "Yay! THANK YOU, DAD!!" I went and hugged him tight. I won't inform Mina right away because I want it to be a surprise for her.
