4. Conversations and Affections

[Chaeyoung's POV]

It was Sunday. I woke up and made myself presentable enough.

I went down to eat my breakfast. After that, I started scrolling my phone.

Suddenly I received a text message from an unknown number.

Hi Is this Son Chaeyoung?

Yes

Oh this is me Jihyo.
I'm adding you to a group ok?

Ok sure unnie

I knew that she might have asked Dahyun for my number.
And there she added me to the Macbeth group chat

Jihyo
We will be doing our practice tomorrow after lunch.

Mina
Okay

Wait what? Mina unnie? Oh my God. I can just add her. Should I personally text her? But we didn't ever talk. What if she doesn't reply?
OK let's just wait until tomorrow.

[the next day]

So we gathered once again for the practice.
All I was searching for was Mina.
Only to find her talking with Bambam.

Ugh why are they talking?!
It's obvious. They're classmates though.
But seriously. I'm kinda hating him now.

Luckily, Nayeon told Bambam to stop talking and get in his place.

I couldn't be more happy.

But... Why?  Am i jealous?  Why am I feeling this way?
I don't even know her well.
Why? I don't have any problem when he talks with the others.
But why Mina unnie?

As we were about to start, Jihyo said that she forgot the scripts in her classroom. As the others were too busy, I volunteered myself.

But I was stopped by jihyo. "Chaeyoung won't know well where I kept it. Minari can you please go along with her?"

"Sure" Mina replied as she walked towards me.

What? Mina? I could feel butterflies. I know I was blushing.
Trying my best not to act weird.

The only weird thing was the silence.

[Mina's POV]

I could see her face turning a tint red as I walked towards her. The silence between us was palpable as we made our way towards the classroom, neither of us daring to break it.

Deciding to take the initiative as the older one, I mustered the courage to speak. "Are you friends with Dahyun and Tzuyu?" I asked. It felt like a silly question, but it was all I could think of to break the ice.

"Ah, y-yes..." she replied, her voice soft and hesitant.

The silence settled over us once again, and I found myself searching for something else to say. Finally, she spoke up, her curiosity piqued. "Do you know them?"

"Not personally, though. They're friends with Nayeon and Jihyo, so I hear their names often," I explained.

"Ohh," she responded, the conversation falling back into silence.

As we reached the classroom, we exchanged a few more small talks. Despite the awkwardness, I couldn't help but notice how incredibly cute she was.
