Hour Sixteen
I flipped over to switch sides for possibly the tenth time since we said our "good nights."
"Just... gising ka pa ba?" I said in a tiny voice. "I'm sorry... again."
There was silence for a moment. Then heard a hum. I stared at the darkness on the ceiling.
He spoke in the same muted volume. "'Di mo kailangan mag-apologize, Shar..."
"No, I have to..." I paused for a bit, hoping he would stay still and let me keep talking - which fortunately, he did.
"My entire life I've been scared. Palagi naman... You, saying so freely that you like me every chance you had, that scared me too. A lot."
I breathed in. I needed to get my point across.
"I've liked you too. And I counted the hours, because I was scared I'm losing my time with you too quickly."
