Hour Twenty-Four
Justin and I were already at my doorstep, calmly awaiting the seconds for the clock to turn 12 - the official end of our 'date'.
His phone suddenly rang. "Oh, diba ang precise ko? Na-una pa'ko sa alarm. You're home safe, Shar," he said as he turned off the ringing. He looked down at me with a smile and handed me the box he had been carrying since we stopped by the park.
He laughed nervously before continuing. "This is my parting gift to you. It contains every love letter I've written for you and about you... basahin mo na lang 'pag nakaalis na'ko para 'di ako mahiya." He remained stiffly standing, not knowing what to do now.
I realized now was the time to do one more thing that scared me. I took a step closer to him and kissed the side of his lip.
Once we parted, I gave him a smile, saying - "Give me 24 hours too, Mr. De Dios. Ako naman ang babawi sa'yo."
