Worry no more, my friend. Nahanap ko na.
From: Jon (Manager)
HOY? SERYOSO. Ay teka, as manager mo ako ngayon dapat formal ako. Teka. Ulitin ko.
From: Jon (Manager)
That's good, who is it? Sabihin mo na, so that I can make arrangements for a meeting with her label or agency. Para maka feature siya sa song mo.
To: Jon (Manager)
... I don't think she has a management?
From: Jon (Manager)
Huh? Anong ibig mong sabihin? Teka, I'm close to your place. Mamaya na lang tayo mag-usap.
My manager aka my close friend, Jon, was now looking at me as if I grew two heads. Still processing the information that I gave him.
"HA? Anong pinagsasabi mo diyan, Clef? Si Mi? Yung maganda na choreographer sa S&A? Yung mute girl? Yung kapatid ng Do-Re brothers?"
I gave him a nod.
Jon was a few months older than me, he and I had been close for a few years already. He was the only person that I could trust aside from my twin and my parents... Yeah, I don't have that much friends.
He gave me another look, "Sure ka bang okay ka lang, Clef? Is the stress and pressure getting to you? Is that why you're starting to hear something that the others can't?"
"What if her voice had always been there but everyone just chose not to hear it? Jon, it was her voice. Alam mo naman na hindi ako nagbibiro when it comes to things like these."
"Sure ka? Okay ka lang?" That was the third time he asked me then he added, "I mean, it's been what 2 years since people last heard her talk?"
I nodded, "Oo, almost 2 years na since she got into an accident and supposedly lost her voice right? But.. have you even heard from her brothers that she really became mute? Think about it, it was just everyone who assumed that her vocal cord nerves were damage. But no one, not from Mi or her family, have ever confirmed that. Right?"
"Well, maybe they didn't want to share it because it's really not anyone's business." He shrugged but I knew that I did make a point.
"Just so we're clear, I wasn't hearing things. Sigurado akong si Mi yung narinig kong kumanta."
He scratched his head out of frustration, torn between believing me or what he thought he knew. I was very certain that it really was Mi who sang, I was sure that it was her voice.
"Alam mo, pag ikaw mali sa inakala mo.. Yan ang tinatawag na fake news. Hindi yan tama na ginagawan mo ng kwento yung tao, Clef. What if she really lost her voice, huh?"
"Jon, what if she's just waiting for someone to hear her again?"
He leaned a little closer to me with a serious face, "If she wanted to be heard, she wouldn't let anyone think that she was mute in the first place."
