Chapter 43 : "Go Order Some More Fries"

Wednesday, November 24th

My cousin scarlett which is going to the ball is coming with me to go shopping for my dress today since I haven't gone. She goes to my school but she's a lot more popular than I am.

We go to the mall and go to a store called, "Feathers and Dances"

When we get in, a lady comes to us.

"Hey! What can I help you with today?"

There's lots of fluffy and big dresses but I'm looking for something fancy but not too extravagant.

"Well I already have my mask so I was wondering if i could  just find a dress?"

She nods, "any color?"

"Blue"

She nods and leads me over to a rack with a ton of blue dresses. She tells me to browse so I do.

Scarlett sits down at a couch area next to me.

"So are you excited?" She asks me

"I guess I would be a more excited if my boyfriend could come"

She laughs, "if you're boyfriend isn't coming then who's your date? And please don't tell me it's another boy from Boy Scouts like 7th grade."

I laugh, "it's just a boy I met"

"Who?"

She takes a sip of her water and I put a dress over me in the mirror, "Kio, kio cyr," I answer her.

She spits out her water, "what?! Kio as in kio cyr the most popular guy in school?"

I nod while laughing, "umm yeah, so?"

"I mean I know james is popular and all but I had no idea you could be with...with kio cyr!"

I roll my eyes, "it's really not that big of a deal"

"Umm yeah! I'm going with his best friend but I would dump him in a trash can in less than a second for kio"

I show her the dress I like, "does this look nice?" She nods but I can tell she's not paying attention to me by the look on her face.

I enter a dressing room to try it on. From inside I can hear scarlett get off the couch and walk around the small area we were in.

"I just can't  believe someone like you could get kio"

"Wow that's a little harsh scarlett"

"Sorry, sorry, it's just I can't believe it!"

"well it's true so..."

"How? When? Where? Why?!"

"He's friends with my brother remember?"

"Yeah but like how did he meet you"

"I don't know it's just sorta happened"

"Have y'all like done anything?"

"Dude! I have a boyfriend"

"So? Don't give me that elena. Even if I had a boyfriend I wouldn't think twice about it"

"I mean...yeah we have,"

I exit the dressing room and when I see her face she has a shocked expression.

"You mean, you...elena, has made out with kio!?"

The lady from the front comes over to us, "did that fit well?" She gestures to the dress I'm holding.

I nod, "yeah, I'll take it"
