Dumpling

Summary: Yoongi is a known rapper, spending a day in the park. He didn't expect to meet a small Chow-Chow and his cute owner...
Story:
Yoongi loves his job but he longs for some free time. He usually goes from interview to interview, from one show to the next, and has to be at three different events in a week. When he doesn’t have to travel, he always stays in his studio and works until it’s morning again, sometimes even works on a track for days without a break. He chose this life and he loves being a rapper and producer but on some days, Yoongi notices that his life is missing something.
It’s mostly on days like this. The sun is shining up in the sky, not a single cloud in sight. There are children running around in the park while the adults eat ice cream, chat with friends or simply lie in the grass, earphones in and a content smile on their face. Yoongi is out with Holly, his brother’s poodle that he only ever sees when he takes a break, which he knows happens too rarely. With half of his face hidden underneath a mask and his hair tucked under his cap, Yoongi could almost forget that he’s an idol. No one pays him any attention as he peacefully plays with Holly in the park, everyone simply looking past him.
“You missed me too, huh? Did you miss me, Holly?”, Yoongi talks to the dog in a high-pitched voice as he scratches his fluffy head. Holly only barks but Yoongi is convinced that Holly just agreed with him.
“I should take more breaks, hm? Should come visit you more often.” He sighs and lays down, not caring if his white shirt would get stains. His body is still exhausted from his 12-hour flight from the US back to Seoul and he doesn’t even want to think about having to go to an event in Europe next week already. Of course, he cannot wait to perform again and meet his fans but he also really enjoys to be in a work-free bubble for a few days.
Yoongi is so lost in thought that he startles when Holly suddenly slips away from under his palm. He turns his head to see Holly running off, barking loudly as he skips towards another dog. Yoongi sits up and tries to call him back but the poodle doesn’t even seem to hear him, too engrossed into his interaction with the other dog.
With a groan, Yoongi reluctantly stands up and tries his best to ignore his tired body as he walks over to the two tiny dogs. Holly’s friend seems to be a baby Chow-Chow that looked like a small ball of tangerine-coloured fluff. Yoongi can’t help but to coo loudly as he crouches down to pat the dog’s soft head.
“Hey little one, are you on your own? Did you run away from your mommy or daddy?”, Yoongi mutters to the dog, his other hand scratching Holly’s fur so Holly wouldn’t feel left out. If it was up to him, Yoongi would be content to pat these little dogs for the rest of his life, his heart practically melting at the sight.
“Dumpling!! Dumpling!”
At first, Yoongi doesn’t pay the yelling any attention. Children and teenagers screamed the weirdest stuff sometimes and hearing someone yell for some food isn’t something that Yoongi finds extremely odd, at first. Only when the person doesn’t stop exclaiming the word “dumpling” over and over again, does Yoongi look up to see a young man running through the park and waving his hands around.
“Dumpling!”
Suddenly, the Chow-Chow that Yoongi is now snuggling to his chest starts to bark loudly. Yoongi flinches but is quick to shush the dog gently, scratching his back. When the stranger shouts again, the dog jumps out of Yoongi’s hold and runs away. Yoongi’s protective instincts kick in upon leaving the young dog on his own so he quickly stands up to run after the pup, calling Holly to follow him. The two of them run after the little Chow-Chow until Yoongi sees the dumpling-calling-man also running towards the dog from the other side. The man crouches down to pick the dog up and cradles him against his chest, his blonde locks falling into his face as the man tilts his head to bury his nose into the Chow-Chow’s fur.
