A Royal Affair

By:Julietlovee

Summary: Basically, Yoongi and Jimin are supposed to be helping Taehyung and Jeongguk but end up falling in love instead.

Story:

"Pull over."

Yoongi rolled his eyes, waving at the driver when he started to slow down. "No, no. Keep going."

"Excuse me?" Jeongguk leaned forward, sticking his head through the partition and glaring at the driver. "I believe I told you to pull over. In fact, why don't you just turn around?"

"Sit your ass back down," Yoongi commanded, yanking on Jeongguk's jacket. He was thrown back down into his seat with a huff, turning his glare onto Yoongi instead. "We're not going home."

"Maybe I don't want to go home," Jeongguk grunted, crossing his arms over his chest. "Maybe I want to go somewhere else." It was in moments like these when Yoongi had to remind himself that Jeongguk was only eleven, and behaving like an absolute child was still natural to him. Even if it made Yoongi want to tear his hair out.

"It's too cold outside to go to the river," Yoongi said. He smiled a little, knocking his fist lightly against Jeongguk's arm. "Come on, cheer up."

"Don't touch me."

"Look on the bright side," Yoongi said, settling back into his seat and ignoring Jeongguk's attitude. "Your parents could have gone with you instead of sending me. Wouldn't that have been embarrassing? Rolling up with mommy and daddy standing behind you?"

Jeongguk's nose wrinkled a little.

"Your father would have spoken over you the whole time, your mother probably would have wiped your mouth during dinner, and then he would have assumed that he'd need to take up that responsibility once you two are-"

"Alright, alright," Jeongguk batted Yoongi roughly, but he was grinning. "You've made your point."

"Try not to think too hard about all of this," Yoongi continued, pulling his own jacket a little tighter around himself. The walls of the carriage did little to block out the cold. "It's just a meeting. You two will have some time to get to know each other, and then we'll have dinner, and then we'll go home."

"I thought we were staying the night."

"Right," Yoongi nodded. "I'd forgotten. We'll rest and head home in the morning."

Jeongguk looked down at his hands, folding his thumbs over and then running his knuckles against each other. He took a deep breath, cleared his throat, and then looked up at Yoongi. "What if...?" He stopped and tried again. "What if he doesn't like me?"

"Jeongguk," Yoongi said softly. "You guys are just kids-"

"I am n-!"

"Shush. Look, there are other ways of aligning the kingdoms, but this is the least complicated and...honestly? The most fun."

"Fun?" Jeongguk echoed. "Me marrying a stranger is fun?"

"Won't be a stranger for long."
