Chapter 1~Finding Out

I've been thinking about the woman who single handedly took an airplane down for days. When I heard the news that was the only thing on my mind and it's so hard not to think about it. She single handedly she took down a plane with metal capabilities. I mean the amount of power she must wield is extraordinary which makes me not knowing her that much harder to bare. I get out of bed and head down stairs. I walk into the kitchen, and see my mom cooking breakfast. This would be a perfect time to try to get answers.

"Hey Mom." I say as I sit down at our counter.

"Hey Honey, did you sleep well?"

"Umm... I guess. But there is something that has been nagging my brain lately."

"What is it?"

"I was wondering if there were any mutants lately that have metal capabilities."

"Why the sudden interest?"

"Eh.. I don't know I mean it would be pretty cool if there was a such thing." I'm always interested in new powers so it shouldn't sound too suspicious.

"Hmm... to think of it there was a woman who had those kind of powers. Supposed to be the daughter of magneto."

I've heard of this magneto. I guess having metal superpowers runs in the family? Now, I was interested but, I have to play it off. "Hmm.. that's interesting. What happened to her?"

"One of my colleges Reed Strucker was the lawyer on that case and put her in jail. It's long story though."

"Please, I have time. Tell me all of it."

"Mhm... okay but while I talk you eat." Then she put beautiful chocolate chip pancakes in front of me.

I shook my head vigorously yes.

"So a couple weeks ago the police bring in magneto's daughter. Her name was Lorna. Lorna Dane. Reed found out she was pregnant said he was gonna assign a lawyer to her. Tries to black mail her into tell him where her mutant friends are. But she is loyal and gets sent to prison."

"Interesting, is there more to the story?" I ask because if the plane was taken down then she must've escaped.

"Yes, the girl and her fellow friends got in a lot of trouble with sentinel services. I just happen to know the guy who was in charge. Poor man lost his daughter to mutants. Hated them ever since. His name is Jace Turner. Too bad he doesn't know all of us aren't bad. That's why we keep our identities hidden."

"That sucks for him, I'm pretty nice."

We both chuckle at my comment.

"Some people are like that. Can't blame him though he did lose his daughter. I would be crazy if I lost you or your sister."

Even though she's not my real mother I did grow up with her and she did take care of me from the jump. So I would kill for her too.

"I would be really mad if someone hurt my family but still, all of us aren't that bad. Anything else happen?"

"Well the story does get better but, we'll talk later I need you to do street rounds today. Your sister is busy feeding the homeless. And your father is on a mission. And I have to go to work. So check the streets come back later when I call you."

"Eh.. okay but you better tell me the rest of the story."

"Hmm.. I can arrange that. Love you." My mother plants a kiss on my fore head. "See you later honey!"

"Bye!" Then she walks out the door.

I walk to my room. Since I didn't think I was doing anything I'll have to get out of my comfy clothes. Oh well... I'll go for the dark, mysterious,comfy normal outfit today I don't wanna stand out.

I walk out the house and walk to downtown. I walk into a cafe so I can get a smoothie and I sense a feeling within my bones like something big is happening. But it only last for a second.

What Just Happened?!?
