Making these are so fun
Thinking of doing one for every chapter :)What do y'all think?
Shawn and I took turns cooking food the next few days.
I couldn't stand the silence. He would be cooped up in his office all day, doing who knows what, while I was bored out of my mind.
"Shawn?" I call out, and he looks up from his phone, his eyes boring holes into my skin. "Can we make a set of rules? I'm kind of confused as to..what.."
He cuts me off when he noticed me stumbling on my words, "Sure." A small smile twitched on his lips, but it was gone in a flash.
I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from the kitchen counter and placed it on the island for both of us to see.
I looked at him expectantly, holding the pen out in the air. He grabs it, our fingers brushing in the process.
He wrote down in quick handwritten, which was surprisingly good for a boy:
Rules:
No seeing other people
Must take turns cooking and sharing chores
Not allowed to invite people over without other's permission
Must act as a couple in public
Don't catch feelings
He passed the pen to me. What should I write?I hesitantly hover the pen over the paper, feeling his gaze on my intensely, making me feel nervous.
At the bottom of the page, I wrote:
If any of these rules are broken, the other person gets a free pass to break a rule.
I signed the bottom of the page, making it feel more like a contract.
He signed the paper and placed it on the fridge, a small square magnet holding it up.
"The fans are anxious to meet you. Let's go out for lunch," he says in a commanding tone. I had a comeback on the tip of my tongue, but I swallowed it forcefully.
I changed into a turtleneck sweater and some jeans, throwing a gray coat on for warmth during the cold Toronto afternoon.
Shawn stepped out wearing a simple navy blue hoodie that said, "Youth" on it.
I grab my phone and put it in my pocket.
He unlocked the door to his apartment and held my hand. His hand was coarse, probably from years of playing guitar. But it felt comforting.
We hopped in the car and he drove somewhere. I didn't want to ask questions, but did so anyway, "Where are we going?"
"The George Street Diner," he answered looking over me and into the rearview mirror to switch lanes.
He must've noticed my confused face because he elaborated. "It's where I filmed my latest music video." I just nodded, pretending to know what he was talking about.
"You've never seen any of my music videos, have you?" He asked once he pulled up. I shook my head, "Nope. Not a single one. Haven't even listened to it before."
He smiles loosely, "Well, don't forget rule number 5. If you listen to it, you will surely break it," he winks getting out of the car.
Where did this playfulness come from? Not going to lie, I'm loving this new character. Much better than the rude, grumpy one.
