chenle had been having a horrible day, starting from this morning when he slept through his alarm clock and ended up being 10 minutes late to his first lecture. that wasn't the worst of it though, he'd forgotten his research paper that he stayed up all night working on.

just when he thought his day couldn't get any worse, he couldn't hang out with Jaemin and Donghyuck because they were both busy doing who knows what. ' probably with their soulmates or something..'

he'd never experienced a day like this and he honestly felt like crying. chenle was almost always smiling , but the outcomes of today really killed his vibe.

usually when he was sad or in a bad mood he'd go home and cling to his mother and cry, but he was quite from his mother and didn't have anyone else he could cling onto and cry.

" hey watch out!" chenle lifted his head only to be greeted with a base ball.

he felt himself falling and closed his eyes and waited for the impact, only for it to not happen.

opening his eyes, he was met with the dark eyes of park jisung. the two stayed there, staring at each other with widened eyes— until jisung suddenly felt a stinging on his left hand, causing him to drop chenle and clutch his hand.

chenle groaned as his back came in contact with the concrete ground. he was about to yell at the younger boy, but was stopped when his own hand started to sting . pulling his hand in front of him to inspect it, he noticed writing.

'park jisung'

looking up at the taller, chenle saw that he was already looking at him, the same expression written on his face.

" so..." jisung started, trying to break the awkward silence. " hm?" chenle was still looking at the ground " we're soulmates i guess.."

chenle smiled a little at the younger who had a obvious blush on his face. " it seems to be that way, i'm zhong chenle by the way." chenle brought his hand out to the younger, who took it while letting out a small gulp.

" park jisung..." the younger muttered lowly. a long silence came over them before jisung spoke up. " uhm... no offense or anything, but i'm not...." jisung trailed, but chenle kinda got the memo. " into boys? that's fine! a soulmate doesn't always have to be a significant other... we could be best friends!" chenle gave jisung a bright smile to ensure him.

" really? i've never had a best friend... or a friend for that matter." jisung bit his lip and looked down. " ever thought that maybe it's because of your rude comments to everyone? or your tendency to play with girls hearts?" chenle gave him a pointed look.

" i don't- okay maybe i do but i can't help it! that's my only way of expressing myself!!" the other boy frowned. " playing with people's hearts shouldn't be a way to express yourself  jisung... i think your problem may be the fact that you're heartbroken yourself. did one of your ex's break your heart by any chance?"

the boy never responded, which led chenle to his answer. " then it's settled, you need to officially move on. take a break from dating to get yourself together. Also work on your people's skills because everyone thinks you're a piece of shit." jisung winced at chenle's bluntness, but knew he was right.

" hey aren't you on the baseball team? you can try to make friends with your teammates!" chenle suggests. jisung shook his head " no one on the baseball team are friends, we all pretty much hate each other. surprisingly we're good with teamwork on the field, but bad at friendship behind the scenes."

chenle had never heard of a team like that "wow.. well don't fret! i'm your friend after all!" " true, but how am i supposed to work in my people skills?" jisung frowned.

" well you get your first practice when i introduce you to my friends and their soulmates!" chenle winked for no particular reason. " huh? you want me to meet your friends?"

" of course silly!"

" i don't know if i'm ready-"

" see you tomorrow jisung!" and with that chenle jogged away, leaving the other boy stunned.

this was rushed and bad but oh well
