San crouched down in front of Jongho and they dropped to their knees, two feet apart, each in their own defensive position.
"When I start this clock, you have three minutes to get to your feet from your position on the floor," Seunghyun said.
"Jongho, your only focus is to do whatever it takes to keep him from getting there."
They nodded and San stared him down with a smirk, shaking out his arms and mentally preparing himself.
"Your time starts...."
San held his breath as the anticipation sped up his heartbeat.
"Now."
San used his hands and the balls of his feet to spring forward, attempting to knock Jongho off his balance.
He must have predicted his movement though because as soon as he leaped towards him he was already jumping to the side to avoid the other. This only caused San to fall face first on the mat.
Without wasting a second, he jumped onto San's back before he had any time to clamber up again and began throwing softened blows to the side of his unprotected head.
"Find a way up San," his dad yelled over the punches.
As he lay flat on his stomach he brought his arms up next to his chest and placed his palms flat on the floor.
The weight of his own upper body was doubled with Jongho cradling him but he used every ounce of his strength to push himself away from the ground, lifting them both.
"Two minutes left."
His arms began to shake from the extra weight on top that was now sitting on his back as if he was a horse and Jongho was the rider.
Jongho's arms ceased their attack and began to wrap around his neck while his legs snaked their way around his pelvis from his current position on his back.
If Jongho succeeded in getting him in his clasp, the only thing he had to do was roll over. San would have no choice but to submit to the choke hold he would undoubtedly put him in.
So he decided to use the rest of his strength to climb to a standing position anyway.
From his hands and knees, he placed the sole of his right foot on the ground in an attempt to stand.
Jongho sensed his plan and squeezed tighter, stopping his movements.
Even if it meant bringing the other with him, he was not going to fail this challenge with his dad watching.
"One minute."
"You've got no where to go," he teasingly muttered in his ear from behind.
San then lowered his head, tucking his chin tightly into his chest and tensing as hard as he could.
He held that position for a moment, garnering energy, before he snapped his head backwards with force, knocking the back of his skull with the front on Jongho's. A loud thud could be heard at the impact and he winced.
"Thirty seconds," his dad warned.
Even though he still held on, Jongho was temporarily stunned at the force of the hit, shaking his head back and forth. He used that time to bring his foot around again to try and stand. He pushed off from the floor placing his left foot on the ground as well, as his father began the final ten second count down.
When he finally straightened his back to stand up right he was heaving.
"Three, two, one," he said along with the sound of the timer signaling the end of the three minutes.
Jongho was still holding on to San as if he was a little backpack. After a few moments he finally unwrapped his legs and let them reach the floor before unlatching his arms from his neck.
"I'm glad to see that you still have good judgment with your ground game," Seunghyun praised.
San smiled, finally being able to have what he was dreaming about for years actually happen.
Out of breath, Jongho stepped towards San and shook his shoulders excitedly.
"That was great! I can't believe you were able to stand all the way up with me on your back," he cheered. "And, I will pay you back for that headbutt."
San laughed and happily skipped out of his reach and over to Wooyoung still waiting on the couch.
San would never be able to look back at this moment and explain what was going through his head and what caused his following actions.
Maybe it was the lingering rush of adrenaline flowing in his system from his plan working, or his small victory against Jongho but he was overwhelmed.
"Did you see that babe?!" He asked as he jumped up and down in front of the boy sitting there.
He bent over the lilac haired boy and jumped in his lap, wrapping his arms around him and connecting their lips.
He planted several small kisses to his lips excitedly before the sound of a throat clearing stopped him and he jumped off, realizing his actions.
His eyes were wide to match Wooyoung's expression and he looked at the now blushing boy.
"I....uh...actually have some press stuff to do so I'm gonna..." Jongho explained quickly before stepping towards Seunghyun.
He wrapped his arms around the taller male which caught him by surprise and embraced him in a tight hug.
"Sorry, I really wanted to do that. Thanks for not giving up during your career and giving me a male figure to look up to as I grew up." Jongho admitted.
Seunghyun looked confused but before he could say anything he escaped through the door, not wanting to be apart of the now awkward atmosphere.
San tried to do the same and motioned for Wooyoung to follow him, "Yeah I should get going too, I have a class I need to-" he started but Seunghyun blocked the door.
"Yes?" San asked innocently, batting his eyelashes at his father.
He looked past him though and straight at Wooyoung, "Are you dating my son?" He asked abruptly.
San cursed and Wooyoung's mouth just flapped open and closed before words came out.
"I'm not really...sure. I mean, we-" he stuttered and looked at San, "Am I?"
San didn't know what to say to either of them. They hadn't discussed anything further after the hospital and if he was being honest, he was hoping he didn't need to. He wanted the unspoken thing between them to remain just that, unspoken.
Because he wasn't good with his words when it came to Wooyoung, he needed him to know that he felt a lot more for him without having to say it.
When neither of them answered, Seunghyun asked another question that made San wish the ground would just swallow him up whole right there.
"Are you having sex with him then?"
Wooyoung began choking on air at the intrusive question and the only thing San could manage to do was yell. "Dad!"
Their faces were cherry red with embarrassment, which only gave his dad the answer he needed.
"Were you safe?"
"Please! Stop, dad. We haven't done anything," his knees grew weak at how nonchalant his father asked the questions.
Seunghyun actually looked amused at the horrified look on San's face.
"Do you want to? Be my boyfriend?" Wooyoung asked, still stuck on the first question. San held his breath as he looked at the genuine curiosity furrowing his brows.
"I....thought I was making that clear," he replied. "Do you want to...be my..." San whispered.
"I do." Wooyoung whispered back.
Seunghyun stared down softly at his son, "You really did find your anchor, huh?"
