It was Monday morning, she had to go back to work. At least it would help her get her mind off of Rick. It was now seven o'clock and she was eating breakfast. When she finished she went to her bedroom to get dressed for work. When she was about to leave, her phone ringed. She answered it and said, "Hello." Her boss said, "Today there is a meeting in the conference room at 8:15 this morning." Angela replied, "okay, I'm heading there now." Her boss said, "see you then." Then he hung up.
She bolted down the flight of stairs and outside, she ran towards the bus stop. She didn't want to miss the bus or she would be late. She made it to the bus stop as the bus was pulling up. She got on and fifteen minutes later, the bus stopped in front of her work place. She got off and went inside.
As she was walking to her office, she heard familiar voices say, "I'm happy your back Angela." She greet everyone with, "I'm glad to see you all too." She headed into her office and settled down. She checked the time and it was five minutes to eight. She was a short story writer for the New York Times. She loved her job.
Suddenly her boss came in and asked, "Are you ready for the meeting?" She replied, "yes, I am." She grabbed a story she had been working on; she wanted to show it to her boss at the meeting and a notebook with a few pencils. They headed towards the conference room. When they walked in everyone yelled, "Surprise, Welcome back Angela!" Memories of Rick appeared in her mind, she started to cry.
Suddenly her boss rested his hand on her arm and asked, "What's wrong Angela?" She felt how cold he was, she shuddered and took a few steps back from. She looked around and saw that everyone in the conference room was a vampire. She spoke to them, "Please don't bite me? I won't tell anyone what you are." Everyone had a confused look on their face, then they suddenly realized what she meant. One of her co workers named Thomas asked, "How do you know what we all are?"
Angela began from the beginning. She told them, "A few years ago, I was attack by a vampire. He bit me on my arm." She pulled up her sleeve to reveal the scare to them. She continued speaking, "Just after I was bit, my attacker was attack by a vampire. The vampire told him, "He was a disgrace amongst vampire for trying to kill a human." The vampire killed my attacker and came over to me. He lifted me off the ground and said, "I'm going to take your pain away." He sucked the poison out of me. Later on I woke up in a hospital with my parents by my side." She let the information sink in and then told them, "there's more." She took a few deep breathes and continued, "This year I was saved by a vampire named Rick Anderson. I was almost hit by a car, when he rushed me to the other side of the street. He became my boyfriend. He left me because he thought I was not going to make it because there was only a one in a million chance that I would survive. He didn't know that I was going to be that one in a million. That's why I'm not happy anymore."
It was a few minutes before anyone spoke. Her boss said to her, "No one here is going to bite you. We are all animal drinkers." She said, "Oh, I'm happy to hear that." She walked over to the table and sat next to her boss. Suddenly she turned to everyone and said, "I have an idea for my short story column." Her boss Lucas said, "Let's here it then."
She pulled out her story and said, "It's called He Saved Me." Then she began reading, "I was walking across the street, when a car came speeding around the corner. He quickly lifted me and with the speed of lightning we were on the other side of the street. He set me back on my feet and asked, "Are you going to be okay?" I replied, "yes, I'm fine." She looked up once and notice everyone had shock written all over their face. She continued, "I was deep in thought thinking how he was the one for me and that I would remember this day for the rest of my life. He suddenly asked me, "Are you free on Friday night?" She stopped, I could continue reading this. I was starting to cry again.
It seemed like everyone in the room had the same thought, they asked in unison, "Is this what happened to you?" She replied, "yes, it is. I thought I would make a good story. He boss said to her, "this does make a good story, I'll let you do what you want with it." She replied, "okay, thanks."
She suddenly remembered, she could ask them if they knew a vampire, who could locate her Rick for her. She asked them, "Do you know of a vampire who could locate my vampire for me?" A co worker said, "I can, it's a special gift I got when I was changed." Angela smiled and asked, "how is it going to cost?" She said, "I won't charge you a dime. I'll just need a picture of him and his scent." Angela asked, "Can you come by my apartment after work today?" She replied, "I sure can, I better do it sooner or later, before the scent is gone. Don't worry thought, it takes three months for it to be totally gone."
Angela was excuse with a piece of cake to go back to her office to begin on her story for the column. Six hours later she went home.
Well as you can see, Angela co workers are a bunch of vampires even her boss. If you were her, would you have been scared? A vampires eyes are the same color from when they are human if they drink animal blood. A vampires eyes are red when they drink human blood. You may or may not see a human drinker in the future. What do you think about her on writing a short story about her and Rick?
Please leave a comment on what you think about my story so far.
