The Hills Have Eyes (Part 2)

"Cheryl Bombshell, huh? Gotta admit, I never saw that one coming and I wouldn't have imagined you two together but now that I think about it... you guys would be cute!" Lexy said, plopping another jellybean in her mouth.

Toni rolled her eyes and giggled. "I mean, she seems to be a lot of work and her mood changes every two minutes but..." Toni trailed off.

"Let me guess, that's what you find so intriguing about her?"

"Yeah. But do we even know if she plays for my team?"

"I don't know for certain but as far as I know she's never had a boyfriend."

"Always a good sign."

"Okay, can you two stop talking about people I have no connection to whatsoever?" Fangs butted in from the corner of Toni's cramped sitting room.

"Don't be a narcissist Fangs! Not everything's about you!" Lexy teased him.

"Well, not that either of you asked but I have issues with my love life too."

"When did you get a love life?" Toni asked.

"Toni!" Lexy scolded her. "What's up Fangs?"

"Well there's this guy... and I've started to like him but I saw him talking to this other guy and I think he likes him. I don't want to start chasing after someone who has no interest." Fangs explained.

"Well, who is it?" Lexy urged.

"Kevin Keller."

"You like Kevin!? That's so sweet! Wait, who was he talking to?"

"That guy Moose."

Lexy went quiet when hearing Moose's name. She knew about his and Kevin's history. But Fangs didn't. And she didn't want Fangs' hopes to be crushed.

"Great! That means they're a thing, right?" Fangs said judging by Lexy's reaction.

"No, they're not. In fact Moose has a girlfriend. They just have a history. But they won't be getting back together any time soon, trust me."

"Ask him to see Love Simon with you." Toni suggested. "Maybe it'll send him a not-so-discreet message. I mean, come on, it's a gay romcom."

"When I saw him talking to Moose they were talking about seeing Love Simon so that's out of the question."

"Well, in that case you can come see it with me. It'll be a singles night out." Toni said.

Lexy was offended. "I'm sorry, when did I become the third wheel? Where's my invite?"

Toni and Fangs exchanged a shocked and enraged look before turning back to Lexy.

"You're not single!" They yelled in unison.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb. You may not have a boyfriend-"

"-but you sure as hell have someone who's praying to be it!" Fangs finished off for Toni.

"You two are idiots!"

"We speak the truth, Lex." Fangs said, sitting back down on the floor.

"Come on, do you seriously not believe that Sweetpea likes you?" Toni asked her.

"I don't know. I just hear that so often from everyone. 'This guy likes you', 'that guy likes you'. I never know when it's real anymore."

"So what will it take to make you believe it's real?" Toni asked.

"A sign from God." Lexy said.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Fangs and Toni stared at each other as Lexy went to answer it. She opened the door to reveal a grinning Sweetpea.
