•Perhaps the best young astrophysics candidate of his generation •Had such a promising future, his parents sent him to intern with a host family of renowned scientists as an exchange student in Moscow •Doesn't get to see his parents much •Extremely focused on his field of study •If he does his job incorrectly, it could mean thousands of deaths •Always curious and hungry for more information •Integrated easily with foreign culture •Empathetic and understanding even if he seems distant on the surface •Very particular about cleanliness and appearances •Joined the Horizon Project through a mysterious sequence of events •Didn't actually take the exam, but was granted access in return for his life after uncovering some secret •Keeps quiet about all of this, and causes the rest of the crew to speculate •It takes them a long time to trust him and it takes almost as long for him to warm up to them •Somehow has lot of IPF connections •Quietly bears responsibility for the wellbeing of the crew of the Destiny, and especially for Hongjoong •They only realise much later that he's been taking care of them the whole time
