Hello everyone! Thanks for checking out Connor's Last Wish.
As if writing two other stories wasn't hard enough, I was challenged by my dear friends, @spacequeensara and @NDeMeer , to enter The Open Novela Contest using not one, but three prompts.
As if that wasn't difficult enough, the two of them decided that they would be picking my prompts for me!
And they are:
Contemporary and General Fiction Prompt #12- "I think we should get another method of picking victims. Spin the bottle seems rude."
Historical Fiction Prompt # 38: When stealing a loaf of bread will get you quite literally shipped off to a distant land full of promise and possibilities, a young woman decides it's worth the risk. However, she gets much more than she bargains for when one of the Naval Officers on board declares his love for her.
Mystery/Thriller and Action Prompt #60- The next words out of your mouth better be 'I'm sorry' and 'Here's the antidote.'
It has been fun trying to think of ways to make these three writing prompts work together, especially since they are not in genres I usually write. I guess that is where the challenge comes in! I'm not going to lie, I have tweaked prompt #38 a bit, not being satisfied with what I came up with otherwise. I had to stay true to myself and share a story I am happy with, so I hope you enjoy how I made it work.
This story falls more into the General Fiction genre, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have had a blast writing it.
