Everything is fuzzy when I first open my eyes. When it finally clears my eyes widen in surprise. The sun was extremely low in the sky. And I wasn't on the ground. I was strung up on the wall by ivy that's wrapped around my arms. I try to untie it. I had to get down.
"Alby" I yell. Where was he? Had the shucking coward left me here to die?
"Alby!" I yell again. The ivy wasn't untying and I was beginning to panic.
"You're awake" alby says coldly walking round the corner. He had a dark glare on his face. Something that really didn't suit him.
"Alby. What are you doing" I ask fearfully. Although I already had a sneaky suspicion I knew.
"What do you think I'm doing mia" he replies cruelly
"It was you" I say quietly "you were the one that beat me up. You were the one that burned down the maps room. You've been trying to kill me this whole time"
"And you finally figured it out" alby laughs cruelly. He had a knife in his hand now. "Hole still and this will be over quickly"
I struggle against the vines trying desperately to get free. He was getting closer and closer every second and I was beginning to panic. The vines weren't untying.
He is inches away from me when an arrow appears out of nowhere landing on one of the vines cutting it down. I easily slip out of them then and land on my feet grabbing the arm with the knife in it I twist it behind his back putting pressure on it so he was forced to drop it before kicking it away and landing a blow to his head knocking him out.
I look up to find a group of girls standing in front of me. Meters away.
"Who are you" the one with the bow asks.
"Mia" I reply "that's alby"
"Why was he trying to kill you" the girl asks. "No idea" I reply quietly.
"Are you new greenies? That isn't possible. We just got a note saying there will be no more greenies. And it's never two" the girl rants.
"We're not new greenies. We came from another glade" I explain quickly.
"We have to get back. The doors aren't closing but we need to be safe" the taller girl snaps "you can explain all this later. We can interrogate him after. Help me get him up"
With a nod I grab one of alby's arms and sling it over my shoulder. The other girl does the same. Between the two of us we make our way back to what must be there glade. As soon as I had taken the first step on my sprained ankle from earlier I knew I had done some sort of damage to it. So by the time we reach their glade I'm barely standing. I stumble under alby's weight just barely managing to stay on my feet.
"You ok?" the girl asks.
Gritting my teeth I give her a tight nod.
"We'll hide in the box" she says. "They shouldn't get us there"
Their glade looked almost exactly the same to our own one. They had hammocks to sleep in. a farm. Gardens. It all looked the same. We climb into the box where around 40 other girls are standing.
"Who're they" a girl that looked to be the oldest snaps.
I blank her turning back to the girl's that had brought us here "he has weapons" I mumble sleepily leaning against the wall to keep myself standing. The girl begins searching alby.
"Who are you" the older girl snaps angry that I had completely blanked her. I study her a moment. Her hair was long and fair and fell to just below her waist and was currently tied up in a pony tail. Her grey eyes glared fiercely at me and her face had a determined set to it.
"Mia" I reply finally sitting down slipping my running trainer off my swollen foot wincing as I do. I slowly begin checking it over for any broken bones. "My name's mia. That alby" I nod in the general direction of alby still looking at my foot. "And you are"
"That doesn't explain who you are" she snaps.
"Look. I'm not here to kill you if that's what you're worried about. Here" I snap back before grabbing alby's knife I had picked up and chucking it on the ground at the girl's feet. She stares at me dumbfounded.
"Taylor" she finally says. I look up satisfied that I didn't have any broken bones but I'd get Clint or Jeff to double check. "I'm in charge of this glade"
"Brilliant" I state smiling. "Now we're passed all the hostility we can start talking" we can hear the sound of the grievers entering the glade and there's a small squeak of fear.
