I'm sorry about the length... I just needed a filler chapter. Big chapters are coming soon... promise!
Chapter Nineteen
Violet
"Amy...? WHAT? Did you know where she was and never say anything?" I was becoming frantic.
"Vi," his voice was calm and quiet, though he looked worried that I might try and kill him, "I didn't know where she was. I'd heard Izzabela joking around with Brei and..." his voice trailed off as he looked at me, "...I thought they were kidding, so I just forgot about it."
I stood, speechless...
It'd been Trent's thirteenth birthday and Caitlyn and I sat on his trampoline, waiting for him to come outside.
Caitlyn had a large smile on her face.
"What's up with you? All you've been doing is grinning." Trent and I had just had a huge fight and she was happy?
"Hm?" she looked at me, "Oh. Okay, guess what happened last night!" She squealed.
I tilted my head in thought. Eventually, I shrugged and said, "I don't know. I was at Blair's house."
Her smile grew wider and she scooted closer to me. She leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I had my first kiss!"
My eyes widened. "Who? Who?" I asked, becoming curious.
At that moment, Trent walked outside and saw me sitting there. I hadn't talked to him for a while-a month-and I couldn't do that anymore.
"Why are you here?" he asked.
I sighed, "It's your birthday!"
"But I hate you."
It wasn't my favorite memory... and why it came to me now? I don't know. I'd never figured out who Caitlyn's first kiss was until the night of the battle with Izzabela.
Caitlyn
"Just go like this," Anthony directed me.
I held my hands in the shape and he smiled, "Nice!"
Just then, I knew something bad was happening. "Anthony? Is something going on on earth?"
His mouth opened to respond, but it simply closed again.
"Anthony."
He sighed, "Yes, Caitlyn, but we can't worry about that right now. It'll all be okay."
"Are you... are you sure?" I asked.
He nodded, "Now, let's..." but I didn't listen to what he said.
Violet
"Trent, who was your first kiss?" I asked suddenly.
He blinked, "Why...?"
"Trent, tell me. I just have to know..."
He sighed and looked down at his feet, "Caitlyn..." he mumbled.
Now I sighed and plopped down on the bed. "But... why?"
"When we were fighting last year... Caitlyn just randomly kissed me."
"Maybe we should ask her why she did that."
"You know why she did that, Violet."
I gave up on fighting with him and turned away, hurt. Don't cry, Violet. That's stupid. Caitlyn kissed him, not the other way around. I turned around and asked, "Did you tow ever... kiss again?"
"Uh..." he said, clearly not wanting to tell me.
My throat closed up, "Trent! You two dated and neither of you ever... ever... ever told... me."
"It was for a month, Violet!"
"But it still counts!"
"Violet, why are you doing this? It was a year ago!"
"Because! You two were my best friends and now..." I looked up at him, "I don't know about either of you anymore."
He stared in shock, "Please don't tell me that was a..."
"You're lucky it wasn't," I said through gritted teeth.
He sighed and walked up to me. "Violet..."
I leaned into him and began to cry.
