"𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞?" He scoffs, black eyes emotionless. "𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬."
She was a girl born in the midst of a war. She was the forgotten child. The sister of the girl who sacrificed herself, saving the boy with...
I stroll out of the train, adjusting my bag closer to my side. Did I really still want to help that arse? After everything, he'd done?
Screams of my childhood echo in my ears and I grit my teeth in pain.
"LENY RUN!!" Raine's shouts ring all around me. "Leny hide!!! Hurry, he's coming!!"
"Len... Len, I think he's going to kill us."
"Leny... I love you. You know that, right?"
"Do you ever just want it all to end? The pain?"
My memories set forth the scene of her death. The loud crack of her neck stuns me into place. My hands begin to tremble. My fingers were shaking so much, I had to hurry into the corner of the train station to try to adjust my breathing. "Stop shaking," I beg my hands to stop trembling, my voice pleading through their tears. Bending down, I try to catch my breath. Placing my hands on my knees, I swallow heavily, eyes blinking back the blinding tears.
Tom's words flood into my mind.
You? A sorry excuse for a human being.
A nobody that no one in this god damn castle actually likes?
A worthless individual with no rationale for right and wrong?
Someone who almost gets her so-called friends killed.
You?
I clench my jaw shut. "Close your eyes. Close your eyes. If all you see is dark, then you can't see her face." I mutter.
"Come on, Valentine. Child, wake up. I'm here." Abaddon whispers comforting thoughts in my mind. I had really missed him while he'd been gone. He was gone longer this time. It was around two months of missing his voice.
"Yeah. You're here." I nod feverishly. "You're here," I mutter over and again.
"Do you still want to help the Riddle boy?" Abaddon asks me. I knew he didn't want to. He had wanted us to just kill him like we'd been tasked to in the first place, but I was in too deep. I couldn't in good conscience ever do anything to hurt Tom Riddle.
"LEN HELP ME!!"
"RUN!!!! DON'T LET HIM CATCH YOU!!! VALENTINE HURRY!!"
I nod slowly. "Yeah, Abaddon. I'm going to help him. I've gotten this far, haven't I?" I finally decide and wipe away the stray tears with both hands as I start to walk away. Blinking steadily, my eyes skid around the station, trying to find the said boy in question.
"Do you see him?" I ask Abbadon, and then my head is moving to the left, Abaddon showing me where Tom was.
"There, Valentine. Go." He states, and I'm sprinting, trying to catch up with Tom Riddle and the woman who was leading him away. "How exactly are we going to follow them if they end up taking a car?" Abaddon demands and I smile.
